Physical artificial intelligence (AI) startup Mowito has raised $3 million in a pre seed funding round led by Version One Ventures.

The round also saw participation from All In Capital, Unisol, iSeed, and angel investors including Soumith Chintala (Thinking Machines Lab), Adarsh Kulkarni (Foundry Robotics), Ashish Kulkarni (Coformer.ai), and Vaibhav Domkundwar (Better Capital).

The company said it will use the funding to expand its business in the US, strengthen its engineering and sales teams, and increase deployments of its technology across automotive and electronics manufacturers.

"Manufacturing has reached a point where hardware is no longer the bottleneck — software is. Factory robots shouldn't need to be reprogrammed every time production changes. We believe robots should learn the same way people do: by observing and repeating. This funding allows us to accelerate that vision, expand globally, and bring Physical AI to more manufacturing environments," said Puru Rastog, co-founder and chief executive officer of Mowito.

Kushal Bhagia, Partner at All In Capital, said manufacturing is entering a new phase where AI will fundamentally reshape industrial automation.

"Mowito is building foundational technology that removes one of the biggest barriers to industrial automation — the complexity of robot programming. The team's technical depth, early customer validation, and vision for Physical AI make them exceptionally well positioned to define this category," he said. 

Founded in 2024 by Puru Rastogi, Adityanag Nagesh, and Safar V, the Bengaluru-based Mowito builds Physical AI foundation models for industrial robot arms. Its software allows robots to learn manufacturing tasks by watching demonstrations instead of being programmed manually. This helps manufacturers automate processes more quickly using their existing robots.

Traditional industrial robots require detailed programming, which can take days and must often be redone whenever products, processes, or components change. Mowito's AI technology helps robots learn tasks directly from demonstrations, reducing the need for manual programming while maintaining the high accuracy needed in manufacturing.

The startup said its technology is already being used in real production environments. Its software powers robots on manufacturing lines at a Fortune 500 automotive company, supporting high-precision assembly work in the automotive and consumer electronics industries.

The startup said it will use the new funding to improve its product, add more merchant partners, and grow its user base in India.

The platform lets users earn reward points, called Onpoints, when they buy gift vouchers or shop with partner brands through its app, website, or browser extension. Users can earn these rewards regardless of how they pay, and they can combine them with their existing credit card rewards and loyalty benefits.

Onpoints can be redeemed for travel and loyalty programmes such as Air India's Maharaja Club, IndiGo BluChip, and Flipkart SuperCoins. Users can also exchange the points for gift cards from more than 300 brands, including Amazon Pay, Flipkart, Myntra, and Uber.

Less than a year after launching it, Koo cofounder Mayank Bidawatka has decided to shut down his AI-powered photo-sharing startup, PicSee, because it failed to grow.

Launched in October 2025 under Billion Hearts Software Technologies, PicSee used AI powered photo search and facial recognition to help users find photos of themselves on their friends' phones. The app followed a photo-sharing system where friends could access each other's photos only by sharing the photos they had of one another.

Bidawatka said PicSee's biggest challenge was not keeping users engaged but attracting enough new users. While people who joined with their friends continued using the app in the first few weeks, growth remained slow because the platform worked best only when entire groups of friends signed up, not just individual users.

“Retention wasn’t the issue. Users who joined with their friends stayed engaged. The real challenge was acquiring entire friend networks. Despite experimenting with different growth strategies, we couldn’t make that scale,” he said.

“For products like PicSee, which are inherently social, the journey typically unfolds in three stages: build the product, build distribution, and then monetise it. We had a clear monetisation roadmap, including a premium subscription offering features such as downloading high-resolution photos, automatically curating albums, and more. However, we got stuck on solving the distribution challenge,” he added. 

After shutting down PicSee, Billion Hearts Software Technologies will return nearly 65% of the around ₹33 crore it raised from investors. Its backers include Blume Ventures, General Catalyst, Athera Venture Partners, and several angel investors.

This is the second startup founded by Mayank Bidawatka to shut down. His earlier venture, the microblogging platform Koo, closed in 2024 after acquisition talks failed.

New Delhi | July 2026:-GAON, the regional food startup that captured national attention after its appearance on Shark Tank India Season 4, has announced the successful closure of a funding round of nearly ₹10 crore, marking the largest fundraise in the company's journey and one of the most significant investments into an emerging regional Indian food brand.

The round has been led by a UAE-based Family Office, with participation from a former senior executive of the Indian Angel Network (IAN) at 50 crore valuation, alongside institutional debt from Indifi, InCred, Velocity and Yes Bank. The fundraise follows GAON's investment on Shark Tank India by Vineeta Singh and Anupam Mittal, reinforcing investor confidence in the company's long-term vision.

For founder Alok Ranjan, however, this milestone represents far more than capital.
