Beyoncé
Beyoncé lent her voice to the cast of “Mufasa: The Lion King” and is she scheduled to lend her artistry to the NFL’s Christmas Day event by delivering a half-time event for the games set to air live on Netflix. And once again Beyoncé managed to dominate the Grammy Awards, leading with 11 nominations. That haul brings her career total to 99 nominations, making her the most nominated individual in Grammy history. In 2023, Queen B hit the road this year in a 56-show global tour that grossed $579 million and enthralled 2.7 million fans. And still the legacy of the “Renaissance” run was far from over, as she released “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” in December 2023, incorporating a docu-style capture of the album’s creation and subsequent touring slate. Distributed through AMC Theatres, the move piggybacked Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” concert film in October, which was distributed by AMC and Cinemark, rather than any of the major Hollywood studios. The Texas-born superstar closed out 2024 with a much talked-about performance of tunes from her country album “Cowboy Carter” at halftime of the Christmas Day NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans, one of two pro football games carried on the holiday as a special event on Netflix.
