Gracing Heaven

I recently finished this peice I've been working on for a while. I thought I'd share it with you guys and perhaps drum up some action around here!

Title: Gracing Heaven
Author: xNymphadoraX
Rating: NC-17
Summary: One glorious night together could change everything for Severus and Narcissa, or not...
Words: 2,467
Disclaimer: I'm just borrowing Severus Snape and the others for my own amusement. I promise I'll give them back, Ms. Rowling.

~*~

Severus Snape was not a handsome young man. No, God had not blessed him with that particular gift. Instead he had bestowed upon him a brilliant and clever mind. There was no student more cunning or apt than Severus Snape at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and it was a fact he held close to his heart.

Narcissa Black on the other hand was a beauty to behold. Her hair shone like spun gold, her skin was fair as marble and her lips were as red as the ripest strawberry. She was something to see, indeed and Severus was positively beside himself every time he saw her. Yet never had he thought that one day he would summon the courage to just say hello. But he did and remarkably, she said hello back.

Perhaps not on that day but certainly in the days that followed, Narcissa and Severus found themselves in each other’s company more and more often. He found that her elegance and grace was something akin to perfection and she found that his intellect and wit were both refreshing and rare.

Their first kiss was somewhat chaste, if not blatantly reticent but it was the first kiss Severus had ever had and he thought it was positively brilliant. As the days and the months went by they shared many kisses and many long walks and many many talks. But their love was something realized only in shadows. The simple fact was, she was too good for him and would be expected honor that reality.

She vividly remembered staring into his endlessly black eyes, willing him to see the truth as she shattered his heart. To understand what she truly wanted but wouldn’t dare speak aloud. She was too afraid of what realizing those words would mean and everything that it would change.

“No Severus. This can’t continue,” she said. “I’m marrying Lucius Malfoy. I can’t see you anymore. I’m sorry.”

He stared at her, words failing him for the first time in his life. No matter what the blow, he always had a clever retort to mask the truth, but now hearing these words that he always knew would come, he had none. Her voice was calm and steady and yet in her pewter gray eyes, there was urgency; a silent pleading to him, even as she backed away.

“Cissa!” He called out the endearment, not really knowing what he wanted at all, only realizing that she needed him. He hastened toward her, and her eyes flashed something brilliant- something hopeful. When he was directly in front of her, he pressed his lips roughly to hers, holding onto her forearms as if he were trying and failing to hold onto the very tip of life. Her eyes rained with tears, sliding between their lips and it was only her gasp for air that broke them apart. “Goodbye, Cissa,” he said, finally knowing what he must do. And then he turned around and walked out of her life, for what he thought would be forever.

He watched her marry a man he once looked up to, a man he once called friend and as time passed, he discovered it was very easy to hide the truth. Some nights he thought that their entire relationship might have been an elaborate hallucination or else a charlatan of a memory in his mind. It was only because Lucius was a man too arrogant and self-absorbed that he did not see the subtle looks they shot each other as Severus enjoyed his weekly Firewhiskey with Lucius; that his most trusted adviser and confidant had loved his wife long before he ever knew what Naricissa Black even smelled like. So their secret remained locked in time, confined by the years in which it took place, until one night she had remembered and called upon him for solace.

“Lucius, please don’t go. I- I miss you,” she pleaded. “Stay with me tonight.”

“You know perfectly well that I cannot. There are things to do. My work is very important. One day the Dark Lord will reward us and you will thank me for it. We are changing the face of wizarding kind, Naricissa. You should be honored to be part of it. Even in the most minute way…” He waved his hand, patronizingly at her as she fastened his cloak around his neck.

“Yes, Lucius,” she said simply, turning away. She did not reveal the tears running down her porcelain face because her husband seemed to enjoy his time with the Dark Lord more than he did with her. Every night, often at offensive hours, and more than once while he made love to her as if she were not quite there, the black stain on Lucuis’s arm would burn bright and he would hasten to Lord Voldemort’s side as if the tyrant were his only source of oxygen.

When she heard the pop that meant Lucius had Disapparated, she grabbed a handful of Floo powder and thrust it into the grate, disregarding the fact that she wore nothing but a flimsy silk night dress and a dressing gown.

“Severus! Severus!” she called out when she found herself looking into his dark sitting room. He hastened into the room, looking about for the throaty timbre that was her voice.

“Narcissa? What are you doing here?” he asked, bending down beside the green flames.

“Please, Severus…” she said simply and he held out his hand to help her up. Once standing, she threw her arms around him and buried her face in his shoulder. Severus wasted no time in wrapping his arms tightly around her back, trying to provide her with the certainty that he would help her in any way, that he would willingly stand before any wand than see her cry.

“What’s wrong, Love? Tell me. I will help you.”
She raised her stormy eyes to him and for once, she disregarded all pretenses. “I need you, Severus. I need you…” she murmured and he did not understand her meaning until she was standing on the very tips of her toes, pulling his head harshly toward hers. Their lips met in a ruthless crash that brought back every blissful memory he had buried for so many years.

Narcissa had never been assertive in their relationship and neither had he. It had been with her invitation that they shared their first kiss by the hearth in Slytherin common room late one evening. Even after that he never took liberties beyond light caresses of her arm or small kisses to the tender skin beneath her earlobe. He had never known this side of her and he had certainly never tempted himself with thoughts of making love to her. That prize was meant for her husband.

“Narcissa, please,” he said, pushing her away half-heartedly. “Don’t tease me.”

“I was a fool,” she whispered and her voice was hoarse with sobs. “I- Please… Make love to me, Severus. I need your touch.”

He never had much restraint when it came to her and her words- her pleading eyes, so identical to the ones he had turned away from all those years ago were more than enough to persuade him. Before a rational thought could enter his mind he scooped her up as if she were a mere quill and carried her toward his bedroom.

Once there, he deposited her in the center of the bed, removing his thick black robes before climbing atop her. When he kissed her it was not with the urgency she had displayed in his sitting room, but with the distinct manner of someone trying to make a moment last forever. He allowed his tongue to slide lightly across her lips before dipping inside to dance languidly with hers. His hands made their way to the ties of her dressing gown and pulled them apart smoothly, his hands coming up to fondle her modest breasts through her silk nightdress. She cried out as his fingers coaxed her nipples to a tender peak. Abandoning her mouth, he lowered his lips to her taut nipples, suckling them through her nightdress. The soft fabric swirling around her in his warm mouth elicited the sweetest throbbing between her legs and she had to close her eyes.

Slowly, torturously, he slid the thin straps of her gown from her shoulders and pulled it down, baring flawless porcelain skin in its wake. Slowly, he revealed her rosy nipples, the soft curve of her waist, the silky blonde curls between her legs and finally her small, delicately arched feet. He kneeled over her, unable to tear his eyes away from her body. She was glowing in the moonlight that spilled in through his bedroom window and she shone like an angel.

After many moments Narcissa reached up and splayed her hands across his chest, causing his eyes to rush to hers. With a berry colored tinge to her cheeks she brushed her fingers across his nipples and even through his shirt she could feel them harden as he gasped. Eyes locked, she unbuttoned his shirt and then his trousers. He slid the garments from his body and began a slow, unexpected decent down her body. Narcissa, of course, knew what he was about to do but could not make up her mind how she felt about it. When she had heard a group of cackling seventh years whispering about it in her fifth year of schooling she had been disgusted, but she could not deny that a part of her was now enticed, curious… Suddenly she felt his tongue, taut and warm, parting her folds and she could not think, could not remember what she had been debating at all. He worked his tongue up and down, delving deeper and deeper with each ascent. Eventually, his tongue met with a small, throbbing pearl and he wrapped his lips around it, sucking gently. Narcissa could not seem to lie still and somehow her hips had left the bed, jerking forward to meet Severus’s lips in a desperate plea for more. Her small cries filled the air as he continued his ministrations until finally, with a violent shudder she collapsed upon the bed with one final cry.

He kissed his way up her body, carefully positioning himself between her legs as he went. When he reached her neck, she felt him plunge into her sodden cavern and she felt as if she might drown in the waves of pleasure coursing through her. He made no movement, only kneeled, poised inside her, his face twisted into a blissful visage. After several moments he began rocking slowly inside her as his mouth ravaged her neck.

Just as she thought she might reach ecstasy once more he pulled back so that he could stare into her eyes. His black eyes were like the dense night sky, illuminated by one lone star. When he moved again it was a slow as he could bear, stopping each time her hips met with his.

He made love to her as if her were creating the most beautiful painting. As if each stroke were a crucial addition to an unprecedented masterpiece. His tenderness and selflessness was nothing she had ever experienced and the combined pleasure of his steady strokes with the love reflected in his eyes made her want to weep. It was all so overwhelming and then suddenly she felt his hand move between them and he was stroking that same mound that had caused her so much pleasure before. She threw her head back as a sound quite unlike anything she had ever made escaped her lips and she convulsed around him. He did not stop as she screamed for him over and over and finally he collapsed upon her with his own shiver of exquisite ecstasy.

It seemed that with his release came devastating clarity and he was reluctant to leave her warmth. He caressed her cheek lightly, pressing his lips to hers in a final declaration of love and he needn’t have whispered, “Stay” to convince her not to leave the shelter of his arms.

He wrapped his arms around her, rolling them so that she was on top of him and he didn’t dare close his eyes for fear that when he woke, he would be alone. He watched the steady rise and fall of her chest as she slept and smiled at the look of contentment on her face. When the sun touched the horizon that morning, lighting the sky with bright crimson rays, Severus’s eyes reluctantly fluttered closed and he fell into a blissful sleep.

He awoke sometime around later to find that he was quite alone and there was no indication that his angel had ever been there, save for save for the faint smell of tea roses and sex lingering among the sheets.

Months later, Severus Snape found himself standing in a small mint green nursery at Malfoy manor, his black robes depressingly out of place. He was peering down at a small platinum blond baby boy as Lucius stood over his shoulder, smug and proud.
It had taken nearly eight years for Narcissa to bear an heir and everyone had rather become accustomed to the idea that there may never be one. Almost ten months ago, however, she had found herself turning up her nose at everything the house-elves placed in front of her, stating that even her favorite foods smelled foul. It wasn’t until one night when she was running to the loo to purge the contents of her stomach that she even realized what was going on. She had spent more than enough nights staring at the ceiling while Lucius slept with a strange grin on his face, wondering what would happen if her child were born with black hair and raven colored eyes.

The thoughts were unwarranted however. Lucius could be seen in every contour of Draco’s tiny pale face and yet, if there was even the smallest bit of hope that he had created the tiny angel with Narcissa that glorious night; Severus had to hold onto it. He had to believe that this tiny, platinum haired angel could be his. Without consciously thinking, he reached out to the child and suddenly, he felt four little fingers wrap around his. Draco’s strong grip took hold of Severus’s heart and suddenly a lone tear was descending his cheek. With effortless nonchalance, he brought the sleeve of his long robes to his face and wiped away the offending display of emotion as if he were moving an errant strand of hair.

“He’s perfect isn’t he, Severus? Every inch a Malfoy! Perfection…” From the doorway of the connecting master suite, Severus heard a muffled cry before he saw Narcissa’s dark blue robes disappear from sight.

Hi everyone,
I just thought that perhaps to get the ball rolling we could post any ideas we have about possible back story of Snape/Narcissa. I'm thinking more of Hogwarts days, first meetings, and a possible or perhaps undeniable(!) history of romance.

What does everyone think?

I'm just editing a short back story that I wrote a while ago and I'll post it soon.
