YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT I THINK ABOUT PETUNIA????

I think petunia is a squib. i heard a rumor that JK Rowling said there's more to Petunia than we think.... or something like that.. I have come to the conclusion that she is a squib... i'm guessing that her parents were magicfolk and she was the only one without magic powers.... would anyone agree with this? i think that is why Petunia doesn't like Lily, or anything magic related or Harry, or anything like that.. and i think thats one reason why Dumbledore sent Petunia the howler that he sent her.... i think that she is JEALOUS... because she didn't get the magic genes..... would anyone agree with me or no?? and let me know your thoughts.....

i just thought i would post my thoughts on R.A.B...

i know alot of people were trying really hard to figure it out, but a lot of people knew who it was right away.. well i think i knew right away.. R.A.B... Regulus (whatever his middle name is) Black...

remember in book 5 when they were cleaning at 12 Grimmauld place?? and they came across a locket that was heavy and not able to be opened??... i can't remember the chapter, but i can look it up and let you know if you want...well the house was the Black's family house... it only makes sense that Regulus found that locket and exchanged it with the fake one that dumbledore and harry retrieved...and in one of the books (4 or 5)you remember them saying that Regulus didn't like the way Voldemort was to gain power, so i assume he didn't want to be a death eater anymore and was out to stop voldemort, so he took the locket on a search for the horocruxes and kept it at 12 Grimmauld Place... why he didn't destroy it, is another question... and where it is now, i don't know.. i would like to assume its still at Grimmauld Place but i could easily be wrong... anyone else have any ideas or theories on R.A.B. or the locket??

Is Snape good or evil?
-----
After reading through Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince almost all the fans of the books are most likely out for Snape’s head. However, the only one who truly knows whether Snape has never forsaken the Dark Lord, or if he is indeed still siding with the light is J.K. Rowling. Acknowledging this point, I am of the opinion that Snape is not the pawn of evil that we think he is. When Snape first left the Death Eaters there was a reason that Dumbledore trusted Snape with so much information that could cost his and many other’s lives.

First and foremost, as a reader, you are led to believe that Snape was forced into performing the treacherous act of killing Dumbledore as a direct result of the Unbreakable Vow he had with Narcissa Malfoy. Snape promises to Narcissa that “if it seems Draco will fail… [he] will carry out the deed that the Dark Lord has ordered Draco to perform” (HBP 36). Snape is bound by this promise to carry out Draco’s mission, killing Dumbledore, lest he be killed himself. I feel that Dumbledore recognizes the necessity of having an insider within the Death Eaters ranks. Dumbledore may have even ordered Snape to kill him himself. There are many speculations on this topic, but there are more reasons why Snape does not seem to be on the dark side.

The end of the book sees Harry in a very emotional state. He has just witnessed his Potions Professor murder his Headmaster. Harry takes it upon himself to follow Snape out onto Hogwart’s grounds and confront him. Harry’s emotions rule him at this point and it seems like he can’t get a single spell at Snape. Snape continues to defend himself, however, but he never attacks. At one point he says, “Blocked again and again and again until you learn to keep your mouth shut and your mind closed, Potter” (HBP 603). During Harry’s sixth year Snape had taken up the position as the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. They were paying particular emphasis to unspoken spells. It seems that even while fighting with Harry, Snape is trying to remind him to use his head and perform his spells without speaking. Snape is still trying to teach him. Why would he do that unless he were still on Harry’s side?

During the course of the fight several other Death Eaters try and attack Harry. However, Snape keeps defending him, reminding them that the Dark Lord wishes Harry for himself. Snape is once again trying to protect Harry. Harry, though, is still emotional and calls Snape a coward, which Snape reacts violently to. “DON’T CALL ME COWARD!” (HBP 604). I feel that Snape is suffering on the inside of the loss of the Headmaster as well. He had been living under the protection of Dumbledore for the past 16 or so years, so it must have been difficult for him to kill Dumbledore. Snape most likely did not want to have to be the one to kill Dumbledore, which Dumbledore could have even ordered him to do, ‘causing the two to fight, as Hagrid tells Harry.

While none of this evidence is conclusive in any way, I think it at least testifies to the fact that Snape might be indeed still acting for the light. As fans we will never know until the seventh Harry Potter book comes out. But I think the evidence within Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is substantial enough to cast a shadow of doubt on Snape’s guilt. Despite what Harry thinks, we still don’t truly know what kept Dumbledore’s trust in Snape in the beginning. It must have been something of monumental proportions to create such a trust in the former Headmaster.
-----

Let me know what you think! I swear I threw it together in twenty minutes or less...
Rebekah
