So what are anyone's thoughts on the new companion, Jenna-Louise Coleman? Being an American I haven't seen her in anything other than Captain America and that was only for a few seconds.

I don't know yet if I like it, but I didn't like Matt Smith at first either...shows how much I know about Dr Who casting.

This year my son decided he wanted to be the 10th Doctor for Halloween!

Yes, his treat bucket is a dalek. I built it myself over about three painstaking days out of a cardboard grocery store tote, duct tape, styrofoam craft balls, and gold spraypaint; the "egg-beater" is pipe cleaners, the "plunger" is cardboard and a pen, and the "eye stalk" is a loo roll and a straw. It is my magnum opus.

Not too many people in the neighborhood recognized us, but the ones that didn't at least recognized the effort.

'Sup, ontd_who? Things have been quiet again lately and, in light of the fact that both of your two active mods are making Fourth Doctor scarves, I think it's time for a new discussion topic. With bonus bragging space, because we could all stand a bit of spotlight now and again.

So tell us, are any of you working on Who-themed arts and crafts projects? Or have you in the past? Do you crochet Daleks, or knit impractically long scarves, or make tile mosaics of the TARDIS? Tell us about it! And, by all means, post or link to pics if you're so inclined!

What is up, ontd_who? I've been thinking about it and, after some serious radio silence, what could be more appropriate than some good Doctor Who podcasts? But it'd be no fun at all if I just went ahead and spammed you with links (okay, so it'd be a bit of fun), so let's make it a party!

I'm going to start us off with: Little Finish! It's a bit specific, being all about Big Finish, but definitely worth checking out. They do monthly reviews of Big Finish Who audio dramas and, if you like that sort of thing (as we all should), it's delightful.

And now it's your turn:

What Who podcasts do you listen to? Are there any you think our lives are incomplete without? What do you look for in a podcast? And, if you don't listen to any, is there any reason why not?

Inquiring minds definitely want to know.

Hey everybody. I'm new to this community, but not new to Doctor Who. I've been a fan of the series for about 10 years, and I love, both, new and old DW. I've taken a long hiatus from Livejournal, in general, but I've been inspired to be more active on here, because of all these awesome communities for my favorite show! My favorite Doctors are Tom Baker & Jon Pertwee (old series) and David Tennant (new). And, one day, I vow to purchase a bag of those famous Jelly Babies! As far as companions go, I'm partial to Sarah Jane Smith, Romana, Nyssa, Rose Tyler (I know, who isn't?) and Amy Pond (She's definitely the hotness!). The creatures and enemies on the show are inventive, as they are hilarious. The Weeping Angels are an exceptionally creative new brand of rivals... plus, they've managed to freak me out at first glance! The plot and writing (thanks to Mr. Moffat) keeps getting better and more thought-provoking with each episode, and I look forward to seeing where he continues to take the show. I'm sure I could go on, but this is just a snippet of how much I love Doctor Who. One that note, I'll leave you all with this:
