When someone put a hand on his shoulder, Norrington jerked into a huddle. He was just starting to straighten when he recognized the man who had stabbed him, now free of encrustations.
Somehow, he managed to face the man squarely.
To his surprise, the man said "I'm sorry." He looked sane, now. "Sorry I stabbed you, sorry I didn't make it clean. Sorry for what the Captain did to you."
Norrington nodded, not daring to unclench his jaw.
"The Dutchman -- she reflects her captain."
Norrington remembered a perfectly crafted sword. "Then she'll be the finest ship on any ocean."
