I was born and grew up in North London, England, and engaged in various occupations, including dental nurse, laboratory assistant and shop assistant, before I married aged twenty and travelled the world following my husband’s career. I spent much time reading, a passion since childhood, and toyed with writing.

Eventually settled in the UK I took evening classes and gained ‘A’ levels in Psychology, Sociology and English before becoming a mature student and gaining Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English and Literature before training and working as a teacher. In 2016 we moved to the peace of rural Lincolnshire, and my sporadic writing activities became more permanent.

To date I've published fifteen books, beginning in May 2020 with 'Fairytales Don’t Come True,' my debut novel. Since then I've written and published four books of poetry: 'October Poems,' 'Thanksgiving Poems & Prose Pieces,' 'Poet-Pourri' and 'Social Climbing and Other Poems.' In January 2021 I published a sequel to 'Fairytales' entitled 'Degenerate, Regenerate,' and at the end of March 2021 I published a psychological suspense story, 'You Know What You Did,' and in June 2021 'All That We Are Heir To,' the third book in the 'Criminal Conversation; series. In November 2022 I published a sequel to 'You Know What You Did,' entitled 'What Else Did You Do?'. The work didn’t stop, as alongside this sequel I was writing a fourth book for the 'Criminal Conversation' series. Entitled 'Innocent, Guilty,' it was published in January 2023, and a fifth book, 'The Future of Our House' came out in June 2023. The sixth and final book, 'Uphill, Downhill, Over, Out' came out in August 2023. January 2025 saw a standalone novel about an arranged marriage, 'An Honourable Institution' and September of that year saw another psychological suspense, 'The Guilty Party'. Most recently, in February 2026 I published a Whodunnit, 'Fatal.' I've nothing ongoing at present, but watch this space.

In late 2021 I undertook some editorial training and freelance work as a sub-editor. I terminated that work in late 2022, but have my hands full with writing my own books and reviewing those of others. In November 2023 I built my own website, with my own books, blog posts, my reviews of other authors' books and interviews with some of those authors. You can find me on Facebook for the link.

And of course there’s reading, something which I have loved since I was a child. I became a convert to eBooks and subscribed to the Kindle Unlimited programme, because although I love physical books, my bookcases are groaning under the weight and I don’t have room for any more. I review everything I read, since I became an author myself and realise the value of these in getting our work in front of as many eyes as possible; but it does mean that I have a large virtual To Be Read pile.

For other leisure activities I walk—or use a stepper at home, when the weather’s bad—play the recorder (badly), and listen to music of all types. I like a good meal with wine, whether out or at home, and spend most evenings binge-watching one series or another.

Life is busy and certainly not boring.

Intriguing!
I have trouble maintaining my focus and I find it quite difficult to stay interested in any one book long enough to read it since my mind wanders so often. If the book doesn't grab me in the first few chapters, I won't take it up again. The book "YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID" was among those that particularly piqued my curiosity. It took me a while to figure out who was telling the story—Amanda or Lisa—and, more importantly, who was the victim. The author made me pause, question, and think, which is what makes this a fascinating read. Usually, I'm adept at figuring out "what is, why, and who." I won't spoil that for you. There are always those who would steal and those who would be envious of the success, wealth, and families of others. In this story, someone wrecking someone else's life out of revenge and envy is nothing new. You will have to find out when you receive your copy. The story's ending was unexpected, and the author LAURA LYNDHURST did a fantastic job at sequencing the story. Just the title alone will make you wonder as to… WHO DID WHAT? Her use of language, choice of words, and writing style is excellent. This is one of the books that will take pride in place on my bookshelf.

    A Story of Revenge

Amanda Roberts has had a very lucrative writing career but going through a phase of writer's block after her 13th novel. Being superstitious, she believes that she'll eventually snap out of it and bad luck has something to do with her slump. Still, she can't truly be worried when everything in her life seems perfect, starting with a loving husband, two beautiful children, a nice home, devoted fans, and financial security. She takes her writing success for granted and goes through the motions at autograph signings with her adoring fans.

After a series of negative incidents, she comes to the conclusion that someone has a personal vendetta against her, but she can't imagine who that might be. The story is written from the perspective of Amanda and "The Shady Lady," the one trying to bring Amanda down. Though neither of the two main characters is likable, author Laura Lyndhurst has created a compelling story. The lengths that The Shady Lady to harm Amanda made me especially curious as to her intentions, but the reveal makes sense, and their were plenty of clues along the way. Lyndhurst's novel shows how quickly someone's life can turn upside down, partly by her own doing but also sped up by a vindictive person, and the media.

This book has such a unique storyline! Amanda Roberts is a world-renowned author. She has it all — the perfect husband, two perfect children, a big house, tons of money, a publisher, PA, and everything that comes with fame and fortune.

But that is about to quickly change.

It seems someone has a vendetta against her and 'things' begin to happen. I love that the author let us get a glimpse into the thoughts of the perpetrator without revealing their identity. It helped keep the story on track and see how it would unfold.

But the surprise twist was definitely something I didn't see coming. Actually, there were two surprise twists that only added to the tension, conflict and unfolding psychological drama, and Amanda Roberts' downfall. You know what they say about the higher you rise, the harder you fall. That could not be more true with this story.

I don't want to leave any spoilers, so I won't tell you what happens. Instead, I'll tell you how much I enjoyed the story. The author did a great job and kept me engaged throughout. The story is well-written and gets down to some of the unpleasant nitty gritty of life.

Famous author Amanda has it all. With two lovely children, a devoted husband, a perfect home, and a successful career, things were great until her thirteenth book. Superstitious, she considers it bad luck. Then, every part of her life starts to unravel. Circumstances lead her to suspect that someone is targeting her, although she has no understanding of the motive. Told through two POV, it gives an insight into Amanda’s life being exposed and the second POV’s determination to make that happen. It wasn’t hard to sympathize with Amanda immediately, but with some unexpected twists, I could understand both sides of the story. Amanda was more on the self-absorbed side, while I loved going into the world of the other author or POV. A compelling read that had me reading late into the night to see what happens next. Luckily, the story continues with book two, and I look forward to seeing what is in store for both women. I can easily recommend “You Know What You Did.”

Amanda Roberts, a fabulously successful author, is superstitious, and when she publishes her thirteenth book, things in her life start going terribly wrong. For one, she’s acquired social media trolls and her books are being sabotaged with poor reviews. Though upsetting, she accepts it as part of her professional fame, but her bad luck doesn’t seem to end there. Someone is making her life miserable, and the danger is escalating.

Ah, but then there are the intermittent chapters in the POV of Amanda’s troll, someone who seems bent on ruining her life. I did not like this anonymous woman or the reality of how easy it is to damage someone’s character and career. Except … things aren’t quite that clear cut. Social media smells blood in the water, and Amanda’s mistakes (and a few peripheral choices) compound an already snowballing situation.

This book is full of twists, including some big ones that I didn’t see coming. The pace is speedy, but the hints at what’s happening are cleverly dropped, and they kept me wondering what was really going on until the final reveal. That was super fun and I couldn’t stop thinking about this story after I finished it. It’s one of those books that keeps you deliciously in the dark. I don’t want to give away too much so I’ll leave this psychological thriller with two thumbs up. Highly recommended.

Amanda Roberts is an award-winning, beloved author whose books are all bestsellers. She lives a self-proclaimed charmed life. She and her wealthy and adoring husband have two perfect children, a custom home, and an entire staff of people who make their lives so much easier. After an unfortunate incident that takes place during her book signing, she's convinced the release of her 13th book has set off a series of bad luck.

Meanwhile, a mysterious woman appears to be at the helm of these growing problems for Amanda Roberts, because Amanda knows that she did and the mystery woman will do what she needs to make sure Amanda gets what she deserves.

You Know What You Did is a page-turner. The first half of the book is interesting enough that I never grew bored, but then the second half kicks it into high gear. I needed to know what was going to happen. Without giving any spoilers, I will say that the author created a deliciously unlikable character who the reader can love to hate. The story is straightforward and while there are twists and turns, it doesn’t feel out of place or sudden. The way Amanda’s superstitious nature causes her to examine every event that happens in her life and whether her charmed good luck has gone south is glorious because she’s so concerned with this belief that she becomes paranoid, which makes for an entertaining ride.

This is the kind of book that is pure fun from beginning to end. While there may be some times when the reader needs to suspend their disbelief, the story is compelling enough that I didn’t mind it at all and found it to be like a fun sudsy soap opera. Great fun!

The novel is written according to all the laws of the genre - the happy and prosperous life of a successful writer Amanda Roberts and her family, someone breaks into their life and seeks revenge, all their peace and order are crumbling and Amanda is forced to look for a villain.

The characters are so well and emotionally written that the reader begins to empathize with them. Events kept me in suspense all the time, I also tried to guess who this mysterious avenger was.

It is interesting to see how the focus of sympathy changes towards the end of the novel. Recommended for lovers of smart novels.

The Real Life of a Writer

In the book, You Know What You Did, the author, Laura Lyndhurst, uses the female protagonist, Amanda, who as a well-known writer, survives a terrorist attack, or was it? She found her way to writing with an English Lit degree, deciding this was the best path besides the norm of marriage and a family, and fills her life with book signings and release parties. A bit superstitious, but deals with some issues with ex-husband, Kip, while enjoying the help of her husband, Jack, who make a good living to support the family and allow her to pursue her dream career.

Several interesting parts of the author’s writing were unique using the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd person in different point-of-view, which were utilized throughout the story. Plus, use of chapter mixing of the Amanda’s writing life, along with her personal life, added a different twist, not seen in most novels.

I loved some of the characters–Hayley, the personal assistant, not too pretty, who can make a quick escape from any two-bit motel, that is if she were involved with one of Amanda’s lovers. Carla, the second assistant, an industrious worker, who keeps everything intact. Jack, husband of Amanda, who is tireless, works from a home empire, keeping subordinates in line with the constant video conferencing, while taking care of the family, too.

An interesting story that would appeal to anyone going into the field of writing. Some nice features showing the trials of making it in this field, along with all the pitfalls of finishing a work, and dealing with some of the fame and publicity that seemed to follow forever, the novelist who, does, finally become successful. And along with the life of being the writer, the author does some good comparisons with other great novels and stories, mixing them with the guise of the writing profession.

“You Know What You Did” by Laura Lyndhurst is a phenomenal read! I couldn’t put it down, as I was eager to see what would happen next.

The author is astounding as to how she spins this novel, guiding the reader to empathize with the protagonist, Amanda, as she struggles to figure out who is stalking and threatening her. As the book progresses, this amazingly talented author again pulls you deeper into Amanda’s life. We commiserate with her and her family, wondering if they will survive the endless onslaught of intrusions and attacks by an elusive and mysterious enemy.

Then, there are surprising twists and turns as you near the end of this book (of course, I don’t want to give too much away). But Laura Lyndhurst has the unique ability of turning the reader on their ear in this intense novel, making us delve into the frailties of human nature—vanity, greed, jealousy and revenge. I highly recommend “You Know What You Did” and enjoy the ride!

The protagonist Amanda Roberts is an author living a privileged and satisfying life having reached the dizzy heights of success as an author. Amanda has a loving husband and children and is admired by her readers. Her life appears perfect due to her fame and wealth, however it all goes wrong when she attracts someone into the fold who does not have her best interests at heart and this person manages to pose as yet another adoring fan so that Amanda remains unaware of how much they actually despise her.

The strength of this novel starts here with clever plot sequences and minimal clues as to who the antagonist is. The story line unfolds in such a way that the tension increases and the desire to solve the mystery increases. The story has a sinister edge, keeps you turning the pages and cleverly hooks the reader in to ensure they read on to the explosive conclusion. A well rounded thriller with all the right elements for a who dunnit. A great read overall!

You Know What You Did by Laura Lyndhurst is a novel about a writer’s dream twisted with a writer’s nightmare. You want to look away but you can’t - until you have finished the novel.

Right from the beginning, we meet Amanda Roberts who is the hot bestseller author with 13 books, awards, a big mansion with an endoring family, and then there is a reader who is obessessed with her. One’s living a dream while the other one is creating a nightmare for Amanda Roberts. It’s a classic cat and mouse tale but with so many juicy bits and it is just so clever for the reader and the writer.

This book is an exciting suspenseful novel with the right amount of twists and turns that keep you guessing and turning the pages into the wee hours of the night.

Seriously, I could not put this novel down until my eyes gobbled every last word.

Lyndhurst has written a thrilling novel of obsession, and the cost of success.

Laura Lyndhurst's You Know What You Did is a book that hooked me right away. Straight off you know a famous personality is being stalked. The chapters alternate between the stalker's viewpoint and the famous author (in this book). The styles of both narrators are different, their thought processes, use of language, etc. Ms Lyndhurst has two other novels (crime-based) but this one is best described as a psychological noose-tightening.

Amanda Roberts and her unnamed stalker are both authors, one is traditionally published and the other is self-published. When a successful writer plagiarises another's already published (albeit self-published) story, the former has hell to pay. But the book has appeal much more than the obvious psychological drama. I am referring to the structure here. The novel, as I said, alternates narratives. The stalker's is italicised for the most part. Towards the end, the structure changes. I won't say more for fear of revealing spoilers but these are subtle touches that make one appreciate the book even more.

Oh, and that closing chapter and final paragraph, you have to buy the book to find out for yourself.

Our protagonist is shady—and not just in deed. Everything about this baddie is locked in the shadows. Who the hell is this maniac sneaking around and causing mayhem? But then, is the baddie really in the wrong? We find out in the first scenes that our leading lady Amanda Roberts has stolen the protagonist's book. We’re told that she plagiarised our character’s book and made a fortune. Roberts hits the bestseller list every time, but she’s blocked and can’t be bothered with any unblocking.

But did she steal it? Everything about this book is shrouded in mystery and intrigue as we’re pulled into Amanda's life and less so into the life of her tormentor.

Told in dual perspective with interspersed chapters of the first-person protagonist’s POV and narrative chapters taking us into Amanda’s celebrity lifestyle. Everything about this book is enigmatic.

This book draws you in as you are embroiled in the lives of these two people. Neither of them is particularly likeable—but that’s okay—it’s more than okay and one of the strong defining elements of the story. Most books are black and white—and most people aren’t. I like that while, for the most part, our sympathies lie with Amanda, we feel that she’s got it coming.

Amanda gets so immersed in her paranoia that she does half of her enemy's job for her. The genius of this story is that the protagonist sets the wheels of destroying Amanda’s life in motion. It’s a train wreck—and guess who ends up driving the train?

It’s pacey, lively and beautifully told. A brilliant look into the psychology of people and what makes them tick.

In the end, a dramatic twist brings about a very satisfying close to the book. The first one I’ve read from this Author, but I went straight out and bought Fairytales Don’t Come True.
