I just finished watching the Promare movie, and I think it's an amazing anime! I really liked the conflict between humans and the Burnish (the people with fire powers). It felt like a great social satire in many ways, and the moral issues in the story were written really well.

What about you guys? Which themes or aspects of the movie did you like the most?

Also, I've seen some people saying that this movie lacks its own identity, like it's basically just a mash-up of Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill. What are your thoughts on this? Personally, I think the movie is great in its own unique way.

Not sure if you've already mentioned it in the past, but how does your scoring work? For example, what separates an 8 from a 7 to you? Also you got some heat in your manga list.

I think MAD is one of those manga that gives me a similar feeling to Fire Punch by Fujimoto. What I really like is that every page feels like watching a good alien horror movie. The alien designs are pretty solid too—raw, brutal, and surprisingly realistic.

By the way, I checked out your IMDb ratings that you sent me. I noticed you gave The Shawshank Redemption a 6/10. What do you think are its weaknesses, especially compared to Forrest Gump, which you rated 8/10 even though they're somewhat similar in style?

Also, I saw that you've been watching Ginga Tetsudou 999 for a while now. What do you think about it so far?

Me too, and what pissed me off the most is that it wasn't even removed by a moderator. It was reported by a user instead. So why did they approve it in the first place? I hate how inflexible MAL rules are regarding what they consider anime and what they don't.
