Ava Shipp hails from Dallas, Texas and is a performer by nature. Bringing a unique sound to timeless classics, new tunes, and originals, Ava loves to sing, play the guitar, and write songs. She can be frequently seen playing everything from alternative to pop, country, and rock around venues in Dallas. Her sense of grit has influenced her songwriting, stage presence, and percussive style.
Ava is also highly involved in drama, participating in plays and musicals alike. Her most recent role was Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. As a teenager, she represented her school at National Endowment for the Arts’ Texas State Poetry Out Loud competition two years in a row, later becoming a National Semi-Finalist as the Texas State Champion. At school, she is on the executive student council as the elected student body Fine Arts Board Chair, representing and advocating for creativity and artistic expression. Most recently, she founded a community arts festival to bring visibility to the different art forms at her school.
A passionate advocate, Ava is a team leader at TeenAge Communication Theater (TACT), a troupe that performs skits on health topics relevant to teens through peer-education. In association with Planned Parenthood, she has learned about access to healthcare through the troupe and found a passion for advocacy among young-people.
