Emotion = Lust - Equilibrium - John Preston - 17/31
Title: Emotion = Lust
Fandom: Equilibrium
Character: John Preston
Word Count: 192
Notes: Still having fun fandom hopping!
John Preston did not quite know what to do with himself.
As someone who had never felt emotions, lust was new to him, very new.
And he lusted after that woman, Mary O'Brien. Her defiant spirit ... it was arousing.
He'd never been aroused before, and he certainly didn't know what to do with it.
Finally, in a desperate attempt to soothe himself before people became suspicious, he hurried into a bathroom and locked himself into a stall.
He experimented a little, before settling into a pattern that felt ... natural to him. Not that there was anything natural left in his world.
After a few minutes, he came into his hand. He quickly cleanned up the mess and then righted himself, and stepped out of the stall. Luckily, he was still alone. He washed his hands, and then paused staring at himself in the mirror for a moment, giving himself a mental talking-to.
"There will be no more thinking of that woman."
"There will be no more skipping your doses."
"There will be no more emotion."
He nodded at his reflection, as if he believed himself, and then exited the bathroom.
