Greetings ALL!!!

I've been a member of this group for a while, but I hate to admit, I've mostly been a lurker. So today I share!!!!

Monday I was able to get inked by Donna at Etched in Skin Tattoos in Saginaw. She is married to one of my co-workers so I had to give her a shot at my skin. I AM SO GLAD I DID!!!

This is one of my dogs. Her name is Mystic and she is getting to be a bit older, and I've really been wanting to get her inked before she passed on.

so yesterday, on the 27th, i turned 40!

and in celebration, i went and got myself some new ink. just a little reminder to never grow up, as i can't help getting older ;)

my sexy little bad-ass faerie was done by Darrel at Wicked Tattoos in Garden City, MI.

she is on my side, right above my hip, across my ribs . . . as tender of a spot as that is, Darrel has a very light hand. i barely bled, and my ink was as smooth as my skin even that same night. i was impressed and am extremely happy!

Prices and Artists

I am getting a full upper-back tattoo(shoulder-to-shoulder, mid-back to neck)this coming March,
and I'd like to know if anyone could give me a price range for such a tattoo.
I have yet to decide if it will be black&white, or color...so,
just a general range would be helpful from anyone who has the experience.

Also, if anyone knows of artists that are good with human figures and nature, that would help me out a lot.

Someone has posted in here numerous times about Garth Hixon, and I checked out his site, he seems like an amazing artist, but I'm not sure if he's the right artist for this piece.

I am either getting my tattoo done in Michigan or San Francisco, so artist recommendations in either area would be much appreciated.

Hullo all,

thought I'd introduce myself since I just joined, I'm not sure if "introductory posts" are annoying or overdone, but whatever, here it is anyway --

I'm Alison. I'm 21 and live in Dearborn. I've had all my tattoo work done by Shamrock at Liquid Chaos -- which is in Dearborn Heights(actually down the street from me). I absolutely adore him, he makes me feel so comfortable and I feel we have a great rapport, which is important to me if I'm going to sit there and let someone poke me for a couple hours ;)

Anyway, at the moment I have 5 tats -- two nautical stars on my wrists, an old school robin with a banner saying "truth", a small tattoo that says "true love never dies", and a skull with a snake winding through it. We are in the process of turning it all into one old - school sleeve on my left arm (although with new - school colors). Not sure what we're going to do with the right arm, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. ha. He also pierced my nose.

Other mods that I have are 00g stretched lobes (I know, small but I'm working my way up), and 4 other stereotypical ear piercings.

I got it down at Vicious Ink at Rochester. We have a family friend who did it for me because he works there, he also designed it and everything. My parents went and got tattoos too because I still don't turn 18 for another week and they wanted stuff.

Has anyone ever heard of Cherry Bomb Tattoos in Roseville, MI??

They havent been around too long, I cant seem to find anything. I wanna know if they're work is good and worth the money or not.

Hey everyone I'm new to this community, my name is Dani. I'm looking ot have my first tattoo done, I want a small black treble clef (no bigger than about a 2" by 2.5" space) on the inside of my left wrist. I've had bad experinces with tattoo shops in the past and ended up not getting the work done. I'm looking for some place around the Flint area (even if I have to travel a little ways it's ok), and an artist that is pretty patient and understanding as I can get nervous pretty easily. Also is this a more painful area for a tattoo, and how long would a small piece like this take? Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I am hoping to get your opinions on the tattoo I want to get on the back of my neck. Most likely, I'll get it done after summer is over so the sun won't do any damage. I'll also only get the outline at that point, an inch long or so.

It's an Adrinkan symbol which signifies the importance of Earth. I was born on Earth day, so it ties into my life nicely.

I have a few questions:
If I were to get this tattooed horizontally, would it change the meaning?
I want to get it on the back of my neck. Does this placement have any significant meaning? Or, is it just preference? (To me the back of my neck is just...the back of my neck.)
I read that getting symbolic tattoos below the waste is disrespectful. Is that true for this?
Is it corny? I mean, I know it's for me...but I'd love to hear your overall opinion.

the last three roses are the new section, which starts right near my armpit . . .

after a few days, i'll take some better ones and get some close-ups of the new section . . hard to see the names on this picture but they are Megan and Amber (my daughters). . of course!

and no, my ass doesnt really look like that! i had to blur out my ass crack, ya know!

hi! thought i would you know, introduce myself and what not. i am from the "blustering metropolis" big rapids, michigan. i got my first piercing when i was 5, my ear lobes of course, my first tattoo and body piercing when i was 16. i ahve gotten all of my work done at Lighttouch Tattoo in big rapids (http://www.lighttouchtattoo.com). if you are from the area or anywhere near it and thinking about getting a tattoo i strongly recomend it. dennis is one of the best artist i know.

i have or have had the following piercings and tattoos:

right conch 14g
right tragus 22g
monroe 16g
tongue web 16g
both nipples 14g
navel 14g
inverse nave 14g

left shoulder: tribalish pheniox with red accents
right rib: small pink star outline
left lower back: red star with black outline
right lower back: black star
right forarm: the word "trust" enclosed in a design dennis freehanded for me
right foot: interlocking green and purple star outlines (my bestfriend has this same tattoo in the same place)
left ankel: circle of three dolphins
right hipish area: shooting star
