History is all around us. Every person, every thing has a history. John and Rodney are no different. Their respective childhoods and everything up to the moment they met has made them who they were at that time. Then began their personal history, the (hi)story of their growing relationship.

What do they see when they look back at the years they've shared together? What is it that makes them see it in a new light suddenly or maybe not so suddenly? Or maybe you want to write amnesia fic about what happens when you take that history away.

There's of course the history of Atlantis and the Pegasus Galaxy and its many planets. Or you could write about an AU in a historical setting.

More power! For those not familiar with the TV show, you can take a look at the Home Improvement wikipedia page. You can incorporate actual themes/canon of the show (how about Tool Time proudly presented by Pegasus' Tools, starring John Sheppard and sidekick Rodney McKay, except that they're also driving each other nuts at home and John's the one wearing the flanel shirts) or write about general home improvement. It could be about the irresistible force of hardware stores, John and Rodney back on Earth, renovating their house or maybe it's things they do to make Atlantis more of a home. Or it could be about improving the Sheppard-McKay household, the little domestic things they do for love.

It's Monday and time for the new challenge to kick things off here at Dreamwidth.

Challenge #45 is:

Sacrifice

What comes to mind is John Sheppard, taking the bomb that Rodney built to fly into a Hive (and his own death). Because it's what he does. Well, not just John. There's Rodney stepping into a dark energy cloud. Our heroes are quite good with the big sacrifices they're willing to make, but there are small ones of course. On average how often does Rodney complain about Earth food he cannot get? And John about not being able to drive? And what about those small sacrifices you make in a relationship, like John giving up orange juice because he wants to be able and ready to kiss Rodney at any time? Or maybe someome else makes sacrifices to allow them to be together and of course there are the alien rituals where they have to sacrifice themselves (or possibly their gay virginity if such a thing exists ;)
