...so said Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali, to the English press after the race today.

I genuinely believed Ferrari had changed. I believed, with the Schumacher-Todt-Brawn era finished, things would be different. And, to their credit, they have been. Until today.

Until Rob Smedley had to as good as ask Felipe to give up the lead of the race, on the first anniversary of his near-fatal accident, while he still had a mathematical chance to win the championship, and hand it to his teammate.

I feel absolutely betrayed. I cannot imagine how Felipe and Rob must feel.

After the race, Felipe was asked whether, if he had won the race, anything would have changed (I presume the question was in regards to the championship and/or his position within the team, but it was quite vague).

"I would have been happy," he responded.

(Next year my birthday falls on a Monday, which means it should be third time lucky for not crying.)
