Jake Williams, anche conosciuto con gli pseudonimi JX, Rex the Dog, Mekka e Oblik (Londra, 1974), è un musicista e produttore discografico britannico.
Biografia
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Jake Williams è nato a Londra nel 1974.[1] Il primo singolo di Jake Williams Son of a Gun, pubblicato come JX e al quale ha preso parte la cantante britannica Billie Godfrey, è giunto nella top 20 della classifica del Regno Unito[2][3] e la top 10 di quella dell'Australia;[4] la medesima sorte è toccata anche al brano di JX You Belong to Me, uscito nel 1995.[2][4] La traccia di JX del 1996 There's Nothing I Won't Do ha raggiunto la posizione numero 4 della classifica britannica.[2]
Sul finire degli anni 1990, Williams è entrato nei Planet Perfecto assieme a Paul Oakenfold e Ian Masterson.[5]
Negli anni 2000, Williams ha pubblicato il primo materiale come Rex the Dog, un riferimento al personaggio della DC Comics Rex the Wonder Dog.[1] Sempre adottando lo stesso alias, ha edito il suo primo album in studio The Rex the Dog Show.[1] Nel frattempo, l'artista ha realizzato alcuni remix per Röyksopp, Client, The Prodigy, Depeche Mode, The Knife e Robyn.[1]
