Round Five - So Randomly Random

In order to make things a little interesting, I offer up a game that can be played in one of two ways.

1. The ipod Shuffle. Some of you may be familiar with this game. If not, here's how it goes: you put your ipod or mp3 player on shuffle, then use the title of the song (or one of the first five songs) to come up as inspiration for your prompt or story. No, the story doesn't have to be a song fic ;)

2. Below is a list of numbered words. Pick a word at random either using dice, printing the words, cutting them up and putting them in a hat or bucket or something then drawing one, going with the first number to pop into your head - whatever you'd feel comfortable with - and use that word as the inspiration for your prompt or story.

Participation is not mandatory and if you would like to make a regular old request, feel free. You can even pick a word from the list if you'd like. This is just a way to have a bit of fun it you want ;)

In Which this Community Needs Help if it's to Survive

Yep, I'm doing it again - encouraging all those who are members and all those who are watching to please, please offer up some prompts. Remember that you can even post anonymously if you want. The more prompts offered, the more plot bunnies there are for people to take up, the more stories will be written, the more the comm can be advertised and hopefully, that will me more people coming our way to see what it's all about and so wanting to take part. And should we get enough people we'll be able to do things like fic exchanges.

I know things seem to have hit a standstill but I'm not ready to give up on this comm just yet. If there's a story you've always wanted to see written, a favorite trope you can't get enough of, a plot bunny that's been nagging you despite the fact you have no desire to write it, then prompt it! The more prompts you leave, the more likely one of them will eventually be written.

Round two is still open to prompts.

Round 2 - The New Season is Coming

It's a new month and that means a new round. And what with a new season of Merlin premiering in certain countries (oh, you lucky, lucky countries) just a reminder to please put spoiler warnings in you requests should the requests be based on any brand new episodes. You can either put the warnings in the subject header, or put the entire request under an lj-cut. Just so long as there's a spoiler warning somewhere visible in your request.

Also, stories have now been added to the gen rec list. If you have a favorite gen story you'd like to add to the least, just comment to the Gen Rec post with the title and the link.

The Last Dragon Egg by Viridis Lupus - (AU, Reveal) The Great Dragon has asked Merlin to rescue the last dragon egg left whilst King Uther has asked Arthur to destroy it. They must travel together, with different agendas, across the continent in order to find it. What will happen when they do? Epic!

They Say it's Your Birthday by 96 Hubbles - Stuff happens. Some funny and some terrible. I cordially invite you to read and find out. Warnings: some language and a spoiler for episode 4x03 in the first chapter.

Refraction by Kiva Taliana - AU story using the 'what if' premise. Accidental changes to fate happen, so when Merlin's destiny is tampered with, events slowly start to put things back on track.

Hostage Situations by Kiva Taliana - Arthur and Merlin are captured by bandits, and negotiating for their safety leaves them depending on each other.

Daughter of Erebus by Tipper - As Arthur struggles to prove his authority with the High Council of Lords after Agravaine's betrayal and Gwen tries to get used to being Queen, a band of professional thieves plot to steal the gold from Camelot's vaults, and Merlin, naturally, gets stuck right smack in the middle. post S4 fic.

Am prionnsa, an t-amadan agus na meirlich by Kaz - In which there is a plethora of exceedingly incompetent bandits, Merlin flails, and Arthur fails at emotional comprehension. AKA: An Arthur-finds-out-about-Merlin's-magic fic.

The Lost by Ultra-Geek - In the blink of an eye, Merlin goes from laughing in the halls of Camelot to lying on the ground, hurt and alone, in an unfamiliar, ruined castle. Now all he has to do is figure out what's happened.

The Visiting Prince by Emachinescat - "Stay away from him!" The visiting prince snapped his eyes to meet Arthur's challenge. "Why?" he sneered. "He's just a mouthy servant. He needed to be taught a lesson." An old acquaintance of Arthur's is in Camelot and Merlin suffers because of it.
