Day 30, What affect has Harry Potter made on your life and how much does it mean to you?: I can't really say that it's had this huge affect on me. I've loved it for a long time, and it's my all time favorite book and movie series. Literally all time favorite. But I don't think that it saved my life or anything. But I do really, really love it.

So close to the end!

Day 27, Would you rather own The Invisibility Cloak, The Resurrection Stone or The Elder Wand?: This is a tough choice. Not the stone. The invisibility cloak would be sick, but I think I would ultimately want the wand. I wouldn't want to defeat people with it. I just think it would be sick for all of your spells to work perfectly every time. No chance of fucking it up. Who doesn't want that?

Day 25, Nineteen years later. Are you happy how it turned out, or do you wish something was different, ie Neville married Luna?: I kindof wish Neville and Luna got married. I don't really like what ended up happening with them. I know that JKR had them not get married because she didn't want it to be so perfect, where Harry's core group of friends just ended up together, but I think that having an experience like they did that that may end up happening. I don't think there's anyone in the world who could truly understand what any of them went through besides them and I think that would bring them together. And I kind of wish that Draco and Harry became like...real friends. But I guess when you hate each other so vehemently for your whole lives that that doesn't really change.

Day 26, If you could be able to work one spell without a wand what would it be?: Accio, so that if I dropped my wand into a place where I couldn't reach it or in the dark I could just summon it.

Day 24, Any particular scene you wished would have been put in the movie but it wasn’t?: Firstly, I wish they included the Potions task guarding the Sorcerer's Stone. That was my favorite task and I'm sad it didn't make it into the movie. I wish they'd included all of the memories in the fourth movie, because I really like them. They're kind of my favorite. I wish that they had included St Mungo's in the fifth movie, and I also wish that they had included Marietta Edgecombe and the sneak hex. And that they'd done Snape's worst memory justice. In the sixth movie I wish they had included the minister scene, though I understand why they didn't, and I also wish they had included all of the memories, which are going to be important later, so how are they gonna fix that? There's probably a lot more stuff that I'm just not thinking of right now.

Day 22, Harry Potter or Twilight?: This is easy. Harry Potter, hands down. I like Twilight, but it's really just a romance novel with vampires. The only message behind it is that women need to be taken care of by men, really, which, I think, is a bull shit message. Bella is just so submissive. Harry Potter, however, is a well written, complex, battle between good and evil. As books, regardless of my feelings about them, the level of writing in Twilight doesn't even really compare to Harry Potter.

Who would've thought I'd get this far?
Day 21, Out of all the characters that died, if you could bring one back, who would it be? So many people died who I would bring back. I think of all of them, though, I'd probably pick Fred. I just love Fred and George and feel like George is going to be living with this void for the rest of his life. And Fred was so young, and had so much left to do! I was so sad when he died. Second choice is probably Lupin, for Teddy. I'm just so sad for him that he's an orphan. I also think it would've been nice if at least one Marauder had survived. Third is Dobby. He was such a good elf. Although I think that he would have believed that getting killed in the process of saving Harry Potter and his friends was a most noble way to die. Oh, poor little Dobby.

Day 19, Do you prefer the books or films?: 100% the books. Hands down. No question. There's just so much more to them. The characters are more fleshed out, the story is more complicated yet makes more sense. I do like to see it on the big screen, but I don't need a picture to imagine it, either. I love the books. LOVE.

Day 20, If you <s>had</s> got to meet one member of the cast, who would it be? Tom Felton, I think. He's just soooo dreamy, lol.

Day 17, Are you excited about The Deathly Hallows movie or scared it won’t do the book justice?: A little bit of both, but mostly excited. With the past movies, I haven't really had a problem with the way they portrayed anything, mostly with what's been left out. Since they have two movies to get it all in I'm hopeful that they'll be able to do their job.

Day 18, Least favorite book? I really do like them all, but I guess Chamber of Secrets?

Day 16, Favorite professor: This is a really hard one. I love all of the professors of Hogwarts. I don't have one favorite, I have three that I like equally. First, Professor Dumbledore. He's just so enigmatic and intelligent and knows what to do in any situation while at the same time being free spirited and fair. He also has that whole omniscient thing. I've decided though that that's because of the paintings. I'm pretty sure that the paintings are set up in such a way that they watch what's going on and report back to him. Second, Professor McGonagall. She's strict and often seems like a hardass but she's fair and cares very deeply about all of her students. She's devoted her life to them. She would do anything to protect them and help them, and though she sometimes seems a bit exasperated at times it's only because she cares about them. Third, Professor Snape. He's a horrendous teacher, of course. Unfair and cruel and such, but I just love him. He's one of my favorites, if not my all time favorite character. He's so brave and complicated and troubled. Also on my list of faves are Lupin, Flitwick, and of course, Hagrid.

Day 15, Who would be your best friends at Hogwarts? (three only): I feel like I'd probably hang out with the same people as Harry. His group of friends was not only the Gryffindors (where I would be) but also the misfits, which was where I always found my niche. My best friends would probably Hermione and Luna and Neville or something like that.

Day 14, Team Voldemort or Team Harry?: The only people who would say team Voldemort are those people who disagree with the general opinion just to be different. I read on a message board somewhere that someone believes that Voldemort is seriously misunderstood, and I don't understand how anyone could get that impression. I know a whole lot about the Potter-verse, and never have I read anything anywhere that suggests that Voldemort is not completely evil. He's shown to be sociopathic from quite an early age, hurting his orphan-mates and even murdering a small rabbit. No one made Tom Riddle the way he is. He's not Hannibal Lecter who was force fed his sister by evil soldiers. Muggles didn't abuse him, their only crime is treating him like anyone else. Tom Riddle was just born bad. So if what I've written hasn't made my answer clear, I'll spell it out for you. Team Harry.</lj-cut?

Happy birthday to my mom!

Day 13, Least favorite movie: This is harder than favorite, because I don't dislike any of them. The one I like the least though is probably Chamber of Secrets. It's just my least favorite story, that's honestly my only real reason for it. It is, however, Richard Harris's last movie, so it holds a special place in my heart for that reason.

I just love both of them and think they're adorable and love them together as they're just perfect for eachother. How could you not love them? Harry and Ginny is a close second, though. I think they're perfect for eachother, too. Not just anybody could be with a guy like Harry, and I think she balances him.

Day 10 Horcruxes or Hallows?: I'm going to assume that this means whether I think Harry should have, since no good person would choose horcruxes. I agree with what Harry did. I think he had it right. I think that Dumbledore told him about the horcruxes mostly so he would know what he was up against.

Day 11 What character would you say you are most like: I'm not sure entirely. Probably a Weasley, because I come from a big old family. We're not poor as the Weasleys seem to be, although they don't really seem as poor as they say they are, what with their trips to the quidditch world cup and all. My family certainly isn't rich either, though. My family also has a temper to rival the one that is so prevalent in the Weasley women, as well, lol. And we're close knit and quite loyal.

Day 9 Least favorite male character: Hands down, Peter Pettigrew. He's just self serving and despicable. What he did to Lily and James is absolutely inexcusable. I don't think he's even inherently all that evil, he just very much cares only about himself and no one else, and will do literally anything to save his own tail, no pun intended. What I don't understand, however, is how the sorting hat got him so wrong? Perhaps he just asked to be placed in Gryffindor.

Day 8, Favorite Lesson: It would be something like charms or transfiguration. Something that allows for more creativity, and isn't so scientific as potions or herbology. I'm fairly positive that I would not excel at history of magic or flying lessons, as I'm not at all coordinated and I'm not a huge fan of just memorizing dates. Although I would find it more interesting than regular history, so I may do better at it than I did in regular history classes. I think definitely my faves would be transfiguration and charms.

Day 7, Favorite female character: I love Hermione. She has a tendency to be a bit bossy at times, yes, but she means well. I admire her ability to tell people what they need to hear without worrying about how they feel about her, and she's just a sweet girl. Second is Minerva McGonagall for similar reasons.

30 days of Master P
Day 5, Favorite male character and why: This one is a tie. My first favorite is Fred and George Weasley. I qualify them as one character. They're hilarious and fun, and I like that, but more than anything I like that have a fierce need to protect those they're loyal to, and to do what's right. And who doesn't love a rebel?
My other favorite is Severus Snape. Easily one of the most complex characters, he has many sides to him. But the side that I like best is the one he kept secret most of his life, and that's his incredible bravery. He's done so many admirable things.

Day 6, What House would you want to be in?: I'm fairly certain that if I was sorted I would sort Gryffindor. I relate most to those characters, and our personalities seem most similar. I have a need to do what's right, and I also possess the fierce loyalty that Gryffindors so often possess. Not to toot my own horn, lol.

30 days of Master P

So my friend decor_noctis just started this 30 days of Harry Potter meme, and being that I don't do anything with this anymore I though that I'd give it a go. I'm four days behind, so I'll catch up today and then continue a day at a time.

Day 1, favorite book: My favorite book would have to be Goblet of Fire. The Harry Potter series starts out fairly light and quite whimsical, and as it progresses becomes quite dark. Goblet of Fire is the middle book, and also the book that transitions from the carefree days of Harry's youth to when he starts to realize what truly lays in store for him. I like the later books, as they're action packed and amazingly complex, but I also like to watch as Harry learns about the amazing things that exist in the wizarding world, and Goblet of Fire marries these two things quite well.

Day 2, favorite movie: This is a tough choice, but it's probably Half Blood Prince. David Yates is my favorite director of any who've directed this series, I like the direction he's taken it in. He did a great job of making the viewer understand that this isn't Sorcerer's Stone anymore. A lot of things have changed since then, and the wizarding world is a much darker place now. Michael Gambon is playing a much more convincing Dumbledore now, perhaps because his biggest problem was that he never mastered that playful quality Dumbledore possesses, and it's not so much a part of this movie. I do, however, wish that we had seen all of the memories, and that they had included the minister chapter, just because I wanted to see that.

Day 3, Is there any part of the film adaptations that have made you angry because they've ignored important parts of the books?: Well, yes. Every part that they leave out anything important I get pissed. They changed a lot of the scenes in HBP that Harry uses to find the horcruxes, so how's he going to find them? All of those scenes were incredibly important to the plot and should've made the cut. They also cut the two way mirror, so I'm not sure how Aberforth is going to send Dobby, either. I guess we'll see. I also get mad when they add things that aren't in the books and take up valuable space that could be used for things like horcrux location memories. And when it would've taken about three seconds to include something and they cut out. Like why did Neville give him gillyweed instead of Dobby? It would've done more to build Harry and Dobby's relationship, which is an important one, and I can't believe that they didn't have it in the budget to make him.

Day 4, Least favorite female character: Is there any other choice but Dolores? I really think there isn't. She's made specifically to be hated, and JK did a good job of it. She's pretty damn evil, and doesn't possess any redeeming qualities. Fuck prejudiced bitches. Besides her it's Pansy Parkinson, for similar reasons, although she's not necessarily evil persay, just self serving and mean.

Day 1: Your favorite book
Day 2: Your favorite movie
Day 3: Is there any of the films adaptations that have made you angry because they’ve ignored important parts of the book?
Day 4: Least favorite female character and why.
Day 5: Favorite male character and why
Day 6: What House would you want to be in?
Day 7: Favorite female character and why?
Day 8: What do you think would be your favorite lesson?
Day 9: Least favorite male character.
Day 10: Horcruxes or Hallows?
Day 11: What character would you say you are most like.
Day 12: Favorite ship.
Day 13: Least favorite movie.
Day 14: Team Voldemort or Team Harry?
Day 15: Who would be your best friends at Hogwarts? (three only)
Day 16: Favorite professor?
Day 17: Are you excited about The Deathly Hallows movie or scared it won’t do the book justice?
Day 18: Least favorite book?
Day 19: Do you prefer the books or films?
Day 20: If you had to meet one member of the cast, who would it be?
Day 21: Out of all the characters that died, if you could bring one back, who would it be?
Day 22: Harry Potter or Twilight?
Day 23: Any part of the books/movies that makes you cry?
Day 24: Any particular scene you wished would have been put in the movie but it wasn’t?
Day 25: Nineteen years later. Are you happy how it turned out, or do you wish something was different, ie Neville married Luna?
Day 26: If you could be able to work one spell without a wand what would it be?
Day 27: Would you rather own The Invisibility Cloak, The Resurrection Stone or The Elder Wand?
Day 28: Do you listen to Wizard Wrock, what do you think about it?
Day 29: Did you enjoy A Very Potter Musical?
Day 30: What affect has Harry Potter made on your life and how much does it mean to you?

So I'm sitting here at like quarter to one, home alone, and all of a sudden there's some bangs on my air conditioner. That turns into some scratching that subsides after maybe two minutes. It was so terrifying. I was so fucking creeped out.
