Also, if anyone reading this registered recently, I went ahead and activated all the accounts that were requiring email confirmation, since that function is not working properly. For now, new accounts will require administrator activation, although I can't imagine any reason why we'd refuse to activate an account unless it looked to be an obvious troll or sock puppet.

An update

Since FG is still down, I figure I'd give you all an update on the situation at hand:

As many of you know, the hard drive in my server died last week, and thus I had to request a replacement (which was done rather promptly, kudos to my host). This past weekend I spent a good chunk of my free time reinstalling the OS and resetting up the various daemons.

However, apache is putting up a huge fight. It dies when its started and won't leave any trace as to why. So, I'm working hard on trying to find out why. I apologize for the extended downtime of the boards, and will keep you guys updated as things progress.

I should probably point out that the Pyrite Rabites results were revealed several days ago, in case any of you missed them. I'll probably leave the thread open a few more days before archiving it.

I'm thinking Fool's Gold is in need of another contest along the lines of the FF Character Contest, FF Villain Contest or FG Character Contest. But I'm open to suggestions of other event types as well. Just be warned that if it requires too much effort from the members, it's probably not going to fly well. I'm bringing it up here because some of you don't post as regularly as you ought and I'm hoping inviting your feedback might bring some of you back a bit more regularly ;)
