IT’S ALIVE! is proud to present BUDDHA ON THE ROAD by Colin Upton. An atheist war vet named Norman has cosmic misadventures after he is hired to kill God. After signing a contract to placate a friends unhinged father, he quickly discovers that he has actually been recruited for an act of deicide! Norman is then ambushed by homeless people and angels who want to save his soul. He then travels to Hell to party with demons and even Satan himself, but quickly figures out that they are not his type. The mood quickly turns serious, however, when the legions of hell mount a battle against Heaven, with Norman on the front lines. It doesn’t take long for Norman to realize that war is hell. Norman finally confronts God and the Heavenly Host, and learns that he has the ability to choose between Armageddon or the continued survival of the human race. Coming soon! Mature Readers Only! Keep your eyes peeled.

Update… I am in that happy time where I am beginning to finish pages, 9 out of a 20 or so page story. I finished 5 or 6 yesterday. The hard part for me is the retouching part. I tend to ink loosely and go back to fix things with white out and pen. That and the cross hatching and tonal effects (with “special effect” watercolour brushes) takes a long time. I’ve come to terms with my clunky, ragged style and in these days of digital “perfection” I have an increasing appreciation for “mistakes”. I call it “drawing while human”.
