It Breaks

A rumble.

A shift.

Sky darkens.

Clouds drift.

Birds scatter,
then hide.

Lightning crackles.

Wind dies.

Silence, eerie.

Calm within.

Show is starting.

It…begins.

Rain pelts down.
Thunder, storms.

Trees whip branches,
twisting forms.

Petrichor vapour.
Leaves, ground.

Ozone, thick.
Swirling ’round.

This deafening roar’s
smiling thin.

Looming.

Crisis.

This storm’s

…within

A-Z Challenge, Challenges by Sarah

Over My Head – Reflection

It was great to get back into the swing of the A-Z challenge, after a year off in 2025. I found it easy to keep up at first, as I was on school holiday break, however, the second half became a little more onerous as I tried to balance work and blogging every day. But. Over My Head – Zone

BERJAYA

Today’s photo depicts a literal “zone”, but it struck me as being fitting, that it also represents another kind of zone – the metaphorical one you don’t set up, but somehow fall into. Throughout this A – Z Challenge, I’ve dipped in and out of both.

Some days, I have needed to create the zone; carve out the time, the space, the intention. Other days, I found myself already there, mid-sentence, carried along by a momentum I didn’t question.

And maybe that’s the takeaway from this year’s A to Z:
Not every day feels inspired.
Not every word flows easily.
But showing up , again and again, is what makes either “zone” possible.

Here’s to the spaces we make, and the moments that carry us.

Over My Head – Yummy

BERJAYA

Look up, ponder the menu… it’s all YUMMY!!!

Goodberry’s is a true Canberra institution, famous for its rich, silky frozen custard made fresh throughout the day. Unlike standard ice cream, the custard has a denser, creamier texture that keeps you returning for more! Available in cones, sundaes and signature “Concrete” desserts the custards are blended with lollies, biscuits and/or fruit.

With three locations – Belconnen, Wanniassa and Franklin, it’s one of those nostalgic treats many Canberrans grow up with and proudly recommend to visitors looking for something uniquely local.

Drop.
Drop.
Patient drop.

Water learns the art of stone.
Minerals held tight.
Time suspended from the roof;
liquid building spears.

Dilemma’s quandary,

Paradoxes challenge.

All in all, conundrum’s

Haleakalā National Park is home to the Maui’s tallest peak, Haleakalā Volcano. Rising 3,055 m above sea level, its name means “house of the sun,” and is linked to the legend in which the demigod, Maui, lassoed the sun to give people more daylight for daily tasks. Although often called a crater, the volcano’s large depression is actually an erosion-formed valley.

Watching the sunrise from the summit has drawn visitors since the late 1800s, and has been famously described as “a most magnificent sight.”
