Well, this is tough. Really tough.

As of right now, this community is on indefinite hiatus. I don't know when or if it will ever be back up and running. I hope it will in the future, but my life has changed so drastically, that I can't make any promises at this point.

I hate to do this, because I love fandom. Fandom keeps me sane. But, now that I am in grad school, I just don't have time to do all the work of a graduate and manage a community. I naively thought I could, but this semester was a real wake up call to how much time and effort I am going to have to put in to school. I can't drop the ball on my studies, so the community unfortunately takes the hit.

I don't want to leave anyone hanging around just waiting for me, hence, hiatus.

I wish all of you the best. You have given me some wonderful reading and I thank you. Hopefully we can come back around to this community at a later date, but if not, please take care of yourselves and know that you have been a pretty important part of my life. I am not even kidding when I say that many stories here helped me get through some pretty rough patches...a welcome distraction from the nastiness that can accompany life. So thank you!

I will still be on Dreamwidth at my personal journal occasionally blogging about grad school and sightseeing Hawai'i. If you are attached to me, feel free to find and add me there. I will return in kind. :)

Thinking about scheduling

I have been thinking a bit about the last poll and my work load as a now graduate student. I have come to the conclusion that this community may be better served by a schedule that has prompting and posting either once or twice a year with longer amnesty periods instead of the current set up.

This poll is designed to gauge the best time for the actually posting of finished work. Keep in mind that prompting and claiming would occur in the month proceeding the months listed here. I am not listing November and December because I figure that with the holidays most people will be extremely busy. I was even a bi dubious about January, but we will see.

I have been thinking about the fate of this community lately. I think it is a lot of fun but it seems like participation is at an all time low. This could be for many reasons - people moving on to fresher waters, people dabbling in different fandoms, people just being busy. All of these reasons are completely understandable.

So, please do me a huge favor and participate in this poll so that I can figure out what to do with this community going forward.
