A wonderful inside look into Georgia O’Keeffe and her kitchen
Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2019I went to the Georgia O’Keeffe museum in Santa Fe this past weekend and saw this book. I’m housebound as a blizzard rages outside today and this lovely book arrived yesterday. I’ve spent a lazy morning enjoying it and her Chicken Congee recipe is bubbling on my stove right now, making my house smell fabulous. I have a culinaty degree- I say that only because several reviewers said the recipes were too simplistic. As you delve into Georgia and her life, you can understand that her favorite recipes would not be fussy or have a ton of ingredients. The cookbook is equal parts her art, photos of her in her environment and really nice recipes that you can imagine her cooking after a day painting or walking in the New Mexico landscape. I am really enjoying it! The book itself is a work of art.

You’ll Feast Your Eyes!
Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2024I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my sister. It is a beautifully designed book, filled with photographs of Georgia, her kitchens, the landscapes she loved, and food. Moreover, I couldn’t put it down because the text is so engaging. I read every word before I wrapped it.

Brilliant Recipe Book and So Much More!
Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2023This priceless volume speaks of who Georgia O’Keeffe was and her love of food, nature, and art by one of her companions in O’Keeffe’s later years. There are recipes that Georgia O’Keeffe loved to eat, plus photos of the food and sometimes the ingredients, plus photos of her homes and activities and pictures of GOK during her daily life in her later years. I really love photos of the food I make and this book also often shows one of GOK’s paintings that is reminiscent of a dish or that shows the colors of the ingredients etc. Beautifully written and edited!

I’ve been waiting SO long....
Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2018This is another wonderful book on Miss O’Keefe, a whimsical mixture of art, style, food and the legend. I first saw a copy at her namesake museum and just had to have it, but the list price was a bit off-putting (even with the member discount!). I’m happy the used copies are making their way back to Amazon at an affordable price. Mine came in very good condition and I couldn’t be more pleased

Unusual but simple recipes, good binding style for a cookbook, interesting content
Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2019I gifted this book to an elderly relative because she’d spent time in Santa Fe and loves it there. She called yesterday to say she was getting ready to try one of the unusual sounding recipes and that overall the book was very very interesting. Initially, when she opened her present, the rest of our large family oohed and aahed and then the book was passed around for everyone to admire. I noticed that two people took pictures of the cover after quickly perusing the pages, because they’d like to purchase the book too. And the spiral binding was also greatly appreciated by all.

Wonderful view into Georgia O'Keefe's life
Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2019We visited Georgia O'Keefe's home north of Santa Fe last year and decided to purchase a few books with her name in the title when we got home. Georgia has Wisconsin farming roots that can be traced back to her childhood. She was more than a gifted artist, she was a devoted gardener and a master chef in her home. The Dinner With Georgia O'Keefe book doesn't contain her exact recipes, but the recipes in the book were collected from her housekeepers and close friends and certainly contain some of the O'Keefe touches found in some of her other cookbooks. The book also contains many photographs that include Georgia, her homes, her artwork and favorite places on earth.

A wonderful book - laced with photos of O'Keefe
Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2018A wonderful book - laced with photos of O'Keefe, her paintings, New Mexico and recipes. I've tried four of the recipes - all winners. Making the Spinach soup was like mixing paints - cream into a dark spinach puree. Turmeric into buttered rice - similar painterly effect. Minor annoyance- there is no index, but the spiral binding is nice. Treat your eyes and taste buds, buy this book.
