IRJ Website FAQ

Important: Due to a recent system migration on May 28, 2025, all IRJ website users will be required to perform a one-time password reset. This is a necessary step to access the new system.


GENERAL SUBSCRIPTION QUESTIONS

What are the benefits of subscribing to the IRJ website?

A website subscription gives you unlimited access to the IRJ website, including premium subscriber-only content covering breaking news and developments in the global railway sector. The IRJ magazine digital edition and archives, subscriber-only Premium Newsletter, webinars and podcasts are additional benefits of subscribing.

What type of subscriptions are available?

We offer a variety of subscription options that allow you to select the plan that best fits both your own and your organisation's needs. You may choose to subscribe to our website, magazine or both. Multi-user corporate subscriptions are designed for organisations with multiple users and enable an administrator to easily manage each user's account.

Why do I need to subscribe to the view the IRJ website?

You are able to view some complimentary news stories every month free of charge. However, in order to maintain a high-quality news service for the global railway community, we need to charge our frequent readers for this service.

How do I create a free account?

You may create a free account here, which allows you to view two free articles total per month.

I am already an IRJ magazine subscriber, but I can't login, or I can only view a limited number of articles.

IRJ Magazine subscriptions alone do not grant unlimited access to our website. Paid IRJ magazine subscribers that have registered through our website have access to our Digital Edition only. You may upgrade your subscription if you wish to have unlimited access to the 20,000+ news and feature articles covering the global railway sector.


ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

How do I update my email address?

To update your email address, visit your profile page while logged in. After changing your email address, make sure to hit the update profile button to save your changes.

How do I update my password?

You may update your password here.

How do I reset my password?
  1. Go to the Reset Password page.
  2. Enter the email address you use to login to your IRJ website account.
  3. Check your email. If the reset message does not appear, check all spam and junk folders. This message and all other website communications will come from [email protected]. This address can be marked as a "Safe Sender" in your email client to prevent spam filtering or other email deliverability issues.
  4. Click the link to reset your password.
  5. Optional: Save the password in your browser's password manager when prompted.

If you get a message saying the account doesn't exist, please confirm you have the right email address. If you continue to have issues, please contact us.

How do I change or update my subscription?

You may change your subscription plan here. Simply click on the "change" button under my subscriptions and select your new plan.


BILLING

Is your payment system secure?

Yes, transactions are secured by SSL encryption.

How do I update my billing info?

You may update your billing information here by clicking "Update Billing Info" under "My Subscriptions." Your new billing details will be used on your subscription's next renewal.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You may cancel your subscription here by clicking "Cancel" under "My Subscriptions." You will retain website access until the end of the current term.


MIGRATION

Why do I need to reset my password?

On May 28 2025, IRJ migrated to a new subscription management platform. As a result of this change, users need to update their password.

How do I know which email address to use to reset my password?

Use the email address you used when signing up for IRJ. Any receipts, invoices, subscription reminders, etc. were sent to this email address. If you are unsure, search your inbox for the messages previously sent. If you still cannot find your email address, please contact us.

I use Google or Facebook to log in and it's not working. What do I do?

Social logins (like Google and Facebook) should work seamlessly after the migration. However, in rare instances, you may find yourself unable to login using these platforms. If this is the case, simply reset your password. The email address will be the one you normally use to login to the IRJ website.

How do I check the status of my subscription?
  1. Log in to your account. If this is the first time you are accessing the account since the migration, please reset your password to regain access to your account.
  2. Go to the My Account page.
  3. You will see your subscription listed here, even if the subscription was made prior to the migration. If you do not see a subscription, please ensure you are using the correct email address to log in. If you still do not see a subscription, please contact us for further assistance.
The paywall keeps preventing me from reading stories, what do I do?

If you suspect you are getting the paywall even when you shouldn't be, please confirm that you are logged in to an account with a paid subscription that includes website access. Please note, subscriptions for the IRJ Magazine alone do not grant access to the website - only the Digital Edition. If you would like to upgrade your subscription to include digital access, you may do so here. If your subscription is correct and active and you continue to receive the paywall, please contact us.
