Love forgives but also takes a stand
Love pushes you to succeed but also offers a hand
Love remembers but doesn’t use it to shame
Love has hope, even if its embers
Reach out
Reach out to the darkness, there may be something there
Reach out to the light, to guide you on your way
Reach out, even if you don’t know what you’re reaching for
To move on from where you were before, keep the hope, widen your scope
I’m here
I’m here
You can rest
I’m here
You tried your best
I’m here
If you can get lonely
I’m here
Forever more
The Heart
The heart is not always heard
Above the hustle of everyday life
When we encounter strife we implore it
Sometimes we ignore it
But the heart is always there
Waiting for someone to be kind
Even if it’s ourself
Rest
I rest now, freely and unashamedly
We all need rest
Rest comes to all in time
But can all wait?
Some struggle to see
What lies ahead
Beside their bed
Can others hold hope for them?
Let them know they don’t have to be alone
Someone is by the phone
Be it night or day
There is a way
Tomorrow
When your motivation is in the bin
When the nights are drawing in
When you feel attached to your bed
When you get a slight sense of dread
You can think of warmer days, happier times
You can have some hot chocolate and early bedtimes
You can reach out to others and just chat about anything
You can acknowledge that right now isn’t forever
Tomorrow isn’t too far away and still has the chance of being the best day
Mythical Creature Support Group
The dragon and the unicorn failed to see eye to eye
‘Well if you have a horn why not use it? Strike fear into their hearts!’
‘Only in self defence!’ said the unicorn, growing tense
The Mermaid said to the Phoenix, ‘do you ever go to the sea?’
‘Doesn’t go well with flames Missy’
The Centaur, feeling glum said ‘I could do with a chum, the humans and horses both reject me on sight’
‘Show them to me! I’ll give them a fight!’
‘What Dragon is trying to say’ said the Unicorn, with dismay ‘is that here you are accepted’
And all cried ‘here we are connected!’
Unicorns
Unicorns always come with a rainbow
What a combination that is
The protector in its radiance
Protecting us from our nightmares, our fears, our sorrows,
Bringing us hope for our tomorrows
May we always find peace in a unicorn
And have reverence for their horn
Familiar
To you I am familiar,
You know my quirks, my likes, my dislikes
What makes my eyes water, what makes my eyes shine
What makes me cackle, what makes me snort
I’m glad you know me so well, because I’m yours, just like you sought
Apologies
An apology is an interesting thing
Do we apologise because we feel sorry or we want the pressure off?
Do we apologise because we want to be admired for our honesty or we want sympathy back?
An apology nonetheless is offered for acceptance, a chance at repentence
