Today is a GREAT DAY – Pt. NEHRU – CHCHA NEHRU’S BIRTHDAY – Birthday of a person who was a great leader,a great politician,a great diplomat,a great statesman,a great speaker,a great parliamentarian,a great thinker,a great writer, a great social scientist,a great humanist and humanitarian, a great foresighted and far- sighted visionary.He was a great dreamer but he never built castles in the air; on the contrary he laid the solid  rocky  Foundations of MODERN INDIA that is BHARAT,That is HINDUSTAN. It is very unfortunate that we have forgotten him. We remember him  only to Glorify ourselves and to secure ourselves in these stormy times.

I have purposely chosen this day to begin my blog-writing because I feel very unhappy at the present National scenario.The political speeches made by all the top,middle ,and lower rank leaders as well as spokespersons of almost all the major political parties have gone below the mark of grace and decency in all respects – in language,arguments,promises,knowledge,counterpoints,wit and humour. Are we not reminded of the fierce fight  between two herds in the street bringing the whole traffic to a standstill. The rising prices,increasing lawlessness, the rapes by responsible and respectable citizens,what to say  of the ill-cultured,rowdy fellows, the foolish statements boldly made  by so-called wise intelligentsia and new-fanged gentry – all this has failed to make our politicians concerned in real sincerity. They are more concerned about their  vote-balance than about the positive efforts to redress  the grievances of the Public.

What terrifies even more is the thoughtless bitter acrimony going on in the country in the race for  power at the center. A nation or a country exists ,grows,develops,progresses,meets the global challenges just because of its great, sound,sincere united leadership on both sides of the Parliament, and legislative Assemblies. The world history is witness to the rise and fall of many nations on this count. Our country has seen such crises many times because of untimely loss of leadership .Thanks to our sound political and legal system that we have survived  them. The government is making all efforts to provide protection to the leaders,but unless all the parties and state governments realize this danger to our national existence,we may suffer great great loss.Whether ‘ A’ goes or ‘ B’ goes ,the loss shall prove irreparable and irretrievable.In the past we have had elections but without such wild behavior. It becomes the first and foremost Duty of the ruling Party and the main major Parties to regain their lost political conscience and consciousness to seriously examine their performance so far, and set an example to others. It is the ideal  synthesis and coorditination of the  YOUTH and the AGE that makes a nation great ; Youth alone will badly falter without the wisdom and experience of the AGE.The ongoing mad race for surrendering power to the young may prove unwise to both the Party and the country.

The women of India have always made  significant and irrefutable contribution to the making and building of India. Are we not showing our callousness to them by not  giving proper representation to them in the elections. We promised to give them definite representation in the next Lok Sabha Elections,but we appear to be far from keeping our  solemn promise made to them. Further, the whole country as well as the women are looking for more legal and administrative measures to stop their molestation and elimination. There are other  points that I hope to raise in my next blog.
