  A story of betrayal, ruin, family, honor, beauty, sacrifice, redemption, schemes, trust, ugliness, cakes, books, enchantments, purpose, courage, birds, faeries, ships, curiosity, mirrors and castles. Based on a beloved, old as time sort of faerytale.  Cedrin is a young man with a world of prospects ahead of him. That is, until a set of his father's ships disappear and his family is bankrupt. Together they start a new life in the country, only to be given false hope again. Cedrin stumbles upon a vast plot, and must hide or risk his death (and, ultimately, that of his family). But his hiding place is already inhabited, and what begins as an unfortunate, disagreeable chance leads to a history so deep even those who have mapped it out are surprised. In the end, there is only one word to describe it: beauty.  There are a few posts (sketches, mostly) open to the public to read. But the real story, in short sections, is posted weekly on Sundays in friends-only posts. Feel free to friend the journal. If I know you, I will friend you back and let you read the hidden entries.  Courage's Beast began as a thought in the shower. It was not until a few months later that the thought began to take form, and thus this story was born. I began writing it when I was sixteen years old, and I am continuing to work on it even now. This book is one of my favorite things to write.
