I figured I should answer any questions that would arise about the RPG and such, so here we go!




1. Just what the hell is this?




Basically, it's a completely different sort of RPG. But of course that's not the answer you're looking for so I'll go further. There's millions of Harry Potter RPGs out there but none of them really fascinated me. (So if you want someone to blame, it's the RPG creators) And then suddenly it hit me. 'What about if the HP characters made LiveJournals?' So that's what _amortentia_ is all about.




So it's not exactly a RPG, I know. My main problem with RPGs is that they're too much work, in BERJAYA_amortentia_</lj>you can post whenever you want, comment whenever you feel like it, you just have to do it as the character.




2. So it's the lazy person's version of a RPG?




Hey, now you're getting it.




3. Explain just how this is supposed to work.




Ok, it's pretty simple. Firstly, those who join need to create an LJ as their character. For example, Harry could be boy_who_lived, Ron could be roonzil_wazlib and so on. Say the person RPing Harry posts on his journal about a particularly miserable Quiddich practice (yeah, we're pretending they can post from school). They have to post on this community linking to their post (or those who are involved can have him on their friends lists). The people playing Ron, Hermione, etc, then can comment on Harry's LJ.

4. I think so... how can I join?




Reply to the application post with an example of a post your character would make.




5. Are there any pairings/ships?




It all depends on the RPer. For example, I'm a R/Hr shipper and is RPing Hermione. So I'll RP Hermione as having an attraction to Ron. The person RPing Harry has the most control. They can decide whether Harry likes Ginny, Draco, Luna, anyone.




6. I checked the userinfo, all the characters are the kids! Can we RP the adults?




Depends how many are interested in joining. If the characters are filled and someone wants to RP Snape, McGonagall, Lupin, whoever, all you need to do is ask. Actually, having Snape wouldn't be such a bad idea...




7. Why are the comments screened on the application post?


The comments are screened so I'm the only other person who sees the application. If you have a question I'll unscreen your comment.

8. Can I still join?




Unfortunately, all the character we need are taken. But of course I'd still like to accept those who want to be characters such as Viktor Krum or Dean. There's a more recent post including the names of characters that could be filled. If you want to know just what characters have been taken, check the userinfo.




9. I requested to be a member of the community! Why haven't you accepted me yet!?




Because the members are going to be those who I accept to take characters. You're free to watch this little freakshow if you don't get a character or simply if you're too lazy to join the lazy person's RPG.




10. What year are they in? Why is Dumbledore still around?




They are in seventh year. And uh... very good question but basically the RPG cuts the whole Voldemort thing in HBP out. Dumbledore is still alive and kicking, Snape is still the Potions master and Lupin is the DADA teacher. Check out the summary and there's an explanation for the journals and the backstory.




11. Seventh year? Then why is Cho still at school? That doesn't make any sense!




Ha, no it doesn't. I like to explain it as extra studies.




12. Why didn't you accept my character?




The only reason I won't accept people is if I feel they can't RP the character as good as someone else who applies (I'm sorry, but feel free to try for a different character!) and if their character is not one that has something close to an established personality by JKR. No Original Characters. It needs to be someone who has been mentioned enough, not just once.
