Social Media Technology (SMT), a new phenomenon in Pakistan, has gained immense popularity in a short span of time while transforming the ways in which the youth of Pakistan communicate, interact and socialize. According to Pakistan Telecommunication Reports (2013), “With an estimated mobile penetration of 70 percent and internet penetration of 16 percent by mid-2013; including more than 125 million mobile subscribers - a figure that ranked Pakistan 5th largest mobile phone market in Asia (Teller, 2013); more than 30 million Pakistani Netizens (Sanou, 2011); and around 8 million Face book users, seventy percent of whom are below 30,(World Economic Forum, 2012), one can only imagine the potential of this rapidly growing media on the youth. Through review of relevant researches alongside the survey of native Facebook users, the objective of this study is to understand the patterns of Facebook usage in Pakistani youth, eventually creating awareness regarding its impact.

Shelter was produced in six phases as dance-theater performances in site-specific, often outdoor, installations in and around Los Angeles in 1990-1992. As videodance installations, it was exhibited at Monaco Dance Forum, Rencontres Internationales Paris–Berlin, and NewMoves Festival (Glasgow) in 2000–2002, as well as in Tokyo and California.

To preserve our sovereignty and integrity in the context of our personal and social relationships is essential for our human dignity. The term "shame" describes the absence of this integrity and the associated feelings of guilt and vulnerability. The standard principles of behavior of the antique Hellenistic societies and the philosophical dualism of Plato's thinking, and later the virtues promulgated by christian asceticism simplified the concept of shame and almost exclusively limited it to its sexual aspects. This process of oversimplification led to the distortion and alienation of the original biblical view of shame and restricted the positive theological interpretation of the concept. This article will argue that the biblical-theological interpretation of shame also refers to the fundamental determination of the human condition that one lives in relationships: with God, with others, and with himself. In addition to the phenomenological and social psychological interpretation of shame as "moral emotion" and "moral knowledge", this study seeks not only to reveal its original biblical and theological meanings but also attempts to reveal the positive role that shame can fulfill in preserving human dignity. At the same time, we will not deny that individual and collective shame can lead to aggression and systematical-political sin. Finally, we will endeavor to examine the role of shame in repentance and as a deference against sin.

Az ember személyiségének értékéhez hozzátartozik, hogy egyéni és szociális viszonyulásainak összefüggésében megőrizze saját szuverenitását és integritását. Ennek az integritásnak hiányát és a kiszolgáltatottság érzését jelöli a „szégyen” fogalma  Az antik-hellenista morálkoncepciók recepciója, a plátói dualista szemlélet, majd az aszkézis állítólag magasabb rendű erkölcsisége által sugallt kettős morál leegyszerűsítette a szégyen fogalmával jelzett problémát, s azt szinte kizárólag a szexuális magatartás függvényében szemlélte. Ez a folyamat az eredeti bibliai szemlélet torzulásához és instrumentalizálásához vezetett az áteredő bűn elméletének fenntarthatósága érdekében. Nyilván, hogy a szégyen ilyen funkcionalizált szemlélése és a „megszégyenítés” mint hatalmi eszköz hosszú távon ellehetetlenítette a vallási és szociális kommunikáció szégyen fogalmával kapcsolatos pozitív tartalmainak kifejtését. Ez a tanulmány tehát a szégyennek, mint „morális emóciónak” és „erkölcsi őstapasztaltnak” eredeti bibliai és teológiai jelentéstartalmát igyekszik feltárni, és arra tesz kísérletet, hogy felmutatásra kerüljön – a jelenlegi teológia-etikai kutatás fényében –, milyen pozitív szerepe lehet a szégyen-érzetnek az egyén méltóságának tiszteletben tartása, az emberi személyiség legbelsőbb „titkának” védelme érdekében. A szégyen bibliai-teológiai értelmezése az emberi egzisztenciának arra az alapvető meghatározottságára utal, hogy az ember kapcsolatokban él: Istennel, a másik emberrel és önmagával.

In this article, I propose to respond to Craig’s (1999) call for a dialogue between what he identified as the seven traditions in the study of communication, as well as Russill’s (2005) positioning of pragmatism as a meta-perspective on the seven others. I show that a way to respond to Craig and Russill consists of considering communication as an activity of ventriloquism, a thesis that is, as I demonstrate, congruent with the pragmatist meta-tradition. Communicating and experiencing the world, according to the pragmatist view, indeed amounts to responding or reacting to what one considers a situation requires, demands or requests, which is precisely what a ventriloqual view tries to analyze and unveil. I then introduce a dialogue between this ventriloqual view of pragmatism and the seven traditions that Craig identified.

پژوهشگران پدیده‌ی تروریسم را از مواضع مختلفی من‌جمله سیاسی، اقتصادی، روانشناختی، اجتماعی، فرهنگی، و دینی مورد مطالعه قرار داده‌اند. علی رغم وجود تعاریف متعدد و غیرواحدی از مفهوم تروریسم و تروریست بیان شده است که بطور کلی بیانگر دیدگاه ارائه دهنده‌ی آن است، اجماعی بر دسته بندی تروریسم یراساس نوع (مانند دولتی، مذهبی، پاتولوژیک، سایبری، نارکوتروریسم و بیوتروریسم)، مقیاس (داخلی و بین المللی) ، انگیزه‌ها و اهداف آن وجود دارد. همچنین، ریشه‌ها و علل تروریسم می‌تواند منشاء داخلی (مانند شاخص‌های اجتماعی، اقتصادی، سیاسی و فرهنگی) و خارجی (مانند استعمار و پسا استعمار، درگیری‌های منطقه‌ای و دشمنی‌های تاریخی، دولت درمانده و مناطق بی قانون، و نفوذ فرهنگ و سبک زندگی بیگانه) داشته باشد. چنین زمینه‌هایی می توانند به عنوان علل اشتراکی در نظر گرفته شوند و صرفاً بیانگر دلایل احتمالی تبدیل یک فرد به یک عضو بالقوه سازمان‌های تروریستی می‌باشد ولی به ندرت توضیحی درباره‌ی چگونگی جذب آن فرد به سازمان‌های تروریستی ارائه می‌کنند. از این رو، شناسایی علل ظهور تروریسم و عضویت افراد در سازمان ‌های تروریستی از اهمیت ویژه‌ای به منظور مبارزه و جلوگیری از آن برخوردار است. با توجه به اینکه نسل اول رویکردهای روانشناختی به خشونت تروریستی اساساً از تئوری روانکاوی نشئت می‌گرفتند و دیگر توجیه کننده‌ی تروریسم مدرن نیستند، این پژوهش با رویکردی سیستماتیک مبنی بر روش پدیدارشناسی به ارزیابی دلایل اصلی تروریسم بویژه از منظر اجتماعی و رفتاری می‌پردازد. هدف این پژوهش مطرح کردن و پاسخ دادن به سؤالات کلیدی شامل دلایل افراد برای حمایت، عضویت، و ترک سازمان های تروریستی، مناسب بودن علم آسیب‌شناسی روانی برای درک و جلوگیری از تروریسم، و نقش ایدئولوژی، هویت و تعلق در رفتار تروریستی می‌باشد.

This chapter addresses the literacy practices, the sociolinguistic skills and the perceptions of the temporary migration of trainee teachers in an Erasmus+ exchange programme. The aim of this study is threefold. First, it intends to analyse how L2 written language is self-reported before and after students’ practicum abroad. Second, it investigates what importance students give to their L2 literacy development and professional learning experience in their practicum portfolio. Third, it explores whether the participants’ personality traits are reflected in their journal writing, seen as literacy events during their stay abroad. The method adopted is a convergent parallel mixed one, which collects and merges qualitative data—the practicum portfolios—and quantitative data—the participants’ scores in grammar and vocabulary tests, self-reported writing tests and personality and emotional intelligence questionnaires.
