I supervise in English at the University of Cambridge. I hold a PhD in English from Harvard University and a BA in English from UC Berkeley. My first book project theorizes the relation between literature and human anatomy by centralizing the phenomenology of the body's back surface. My second project uses economic modeling and theory to understand the "economics" of narrative language and structure. An article launching this project, titled "Austen Equilibrium," was published in Representations 143 and awarded the Richard Stein Essay Prize by the Interdisciplinary Nineteenth-Century Studies Association (INCS). I'm also translating (from French to English) a collection of critical essays on the avant-garde filmmakers Yervant Gianikian and Angela Ricci Lucchi, forthcoming in 2024 from Amsterdam University Press. My research interests include narrative theory, nineteenth-century British literature, embodied cognition, economics and literature, and avant-garde cinema.

Formed in 2009, the Archive Team (not to be confused with the archive.org Archive-It Team) is a rogue archivist collective dedicated to saving copies of rapidly dying or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage. The group is 100% composed of volunteers and interested parties, and has expanded into a large amount of related projects for saving online and digital history.
