BERJAYA

Formed in 2009, the Archive Team (not to be confused with the archive.org Archive-It Team) is a rogue archivist collective dedicated to saving copies of rapidly dying or deleted websites for the sake of history and digital heritage. The group is 100% composed of volunteers and interested parties, and has expanded into a large amount of related projects for saving online and digital history.

History is littered with hundreds of conflicts over the future of a community, group, location or business that were "resolved" when one of the parties stepped ahead and destroyed what was there. With the original point of contention destroyed, the debates would fall to the wayside. Archive Team believes that by duplicated condemned data, the conversation and debate can continue, as well as the richness and insight gained by keeping the materials. Our projects have ranged in size from a single volunteer downloading the data to a small-but-critical site, to over 100 volunteers stepping forward to acquire terabytes of user-created data to save for future generations.

The main site for Archive Team is at archiveteam.org and contains up to the date information on various projects, manifestos, plans and walkthroughs.

This collection contains the output of many Archive Team projects, both ongoing and completed. Thanks to the generous providing of disk space by the Internet Archive, multi-terabyte datasets can be made available, as well as in use by the Wayback Machine, providing a path back to lost websites and work.

Our collection has grown to the point of having sub-collections for the type of data we acquire. If you are seeking to browse the contents of these collections, the Wayback Machine is the best first stop. Otherwise, you are free to dig into the stacks to see what you may find.

The Archive Team Panic Downloads are full pulldowns of currently extant websites, meant to serve as emergency backups for needed sites that are in danger of closing, or which will be missed dearly if suddenly lost due to hard drive crashes or server failures.

Fatty Acids and B Vitamins in Honey Bee Pollen in Relation to Botanical Origin

The study was conducted to determine the fatty acids and B vitamins concentrations of bee-pollen ... more The study was conducted to determine the fatty acids and B vitamins concentrations of bee-pollen from the major pollen sources in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia. The highest concentration of total lipids was obtained from bee-pollen collected from summer squash. The fatty acids analysis of fresh bee-pollen showed that the tested bee-pollen samples were rich in palmitic (C 16:0), stearic (C 18:0), oleic (C 18:1), linoleic (C 18:2), linolenic (C 18:3), arachidic (C 20:0), behenic (C 22:0), and lignoceric (C 24:0) acids. The amount of fatty acids was varied and well correlated with the origin of the samples. Among the fatty acids, oleic content showed high value in bee-pollen from alfalfa and date palm. The contents of stearic and linolenic fatty acids were found in high ratio in pollen collected from summer squash. The concentration (mg/100g) of B vitamins ranged from 0.04 to 0.77 (B 3), 0.03 to 0.77 (B 6), 0.03 to 2.33 (B 9) and 0.05 to 2.50 (B 12) in bee-pollen collected from the five plants sources. Overall, fatty acids composition of pollen containing both the unsaturated and saturated showed considerable variations affected by the plant species from which pollen was collected. It was concluded, that the fatty acids composition and vitamin B of bee-pollen can be correlated with the botanical origin.

Protein content and amino acids composition of bee-pollens from major pollen floral sources in Al... more Protein content and amino acids composition of bee-pollens from major pollen floral sources in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia were determined to investigate the nutritive value of pollen protein relative to requirements of honeybees and adult humans. The major pollen sources were alfalfa, date palm, rape, summer squash, and sunflower. Bee-pollens from alfalfa and date palm showed high content of crude protein and amino acid concentrations. Bee-pollen from sunflower had low content of those components. Eighteen amino acids were found in bee-pollens from the five major floral sources. The highest concentrations of individual amino acids valine, leucine, isoleucine, phenylalanine and proline were obtained from alfalfa bee-pollen; lysine, arginine, cysteine, tryptophan and tyrosine from date palm; methionine, histidine, glycine and alanine from summer squash; threonine, serine and glutamic acid from sunflower; and aspartic acid from rape bee-pollen. The amino acid composition obtained from sunflower bee-pollen showed the lowest concentrations of the essential amino acids: isoleucine, leucine, methionine, phenylalanine and valine. Apart from methionine, arginine and isoleucine, the essential amino acids of bee-pollen from alfalfa, date palm, summer squash and rape exceeded the honeybees' requirements. Methionine was the limiting amino acid in bee-pollens from the five selected sources. Concentrations of essential amino acids in the tested bee-pollens were variable and significantly correlated to their botanical origin of pollen. Bee-pollens from alfalfa, date palm and summer squash was found to be rich source of protein and amino acids for bees and for humans. Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) seed yield in relation to phosphorus fertilization and honeybee pollination

This investigation was conducted at the Agricultural and Veterinary Training and Research Station... more This investigation was conducted at the Agricultural and Veterinary Training and Research Station, King Faisal University, Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, during the alfalfa growing season in 2014. The study aimed to evaluate the impact of phosphorus fertilization and honeybee pollination on alfalfa seed production. The experiment was divided into 9 treatments of open pollination, honeybee pollination, and non-pollination with three different levels (0, 300 or 600 kg P 2 O 5 /ha/year) of triple super phosphate. All veg-etative growth attributes of Hassawi alfalfa were significantly higher in the non-insect pollination plots, while the yield and yield component traits were significantly higher with either open pollination or honeybee pollination in parallel with the increasing level of phosphorus fertilizer up to 600 kg P 2 O 5 / ha/year in light salt-affected loamy sand soils. There was no seed yield in Hassawi alfalfa without insect pollination. Therefore, placing honeybee colonies near the fields of Hassawi alfalfa and adding 600 kg P 2 O 5 /ha/year can increase seed production.
