Python

SciPy is an open-source scientific computing library for the Python programming language. Since its initial release in 2001, SciPy has become a de facto standard for leveraging scientific algorithms in Python, with over 600 unique code contributors, thousands of dependent packages, over 100,000 dependent repositories and millions of downloads per year. In this work, we provide an overview of the capabilities and development practices of SciPy 1.0 and highlight some recent technical developments.

Array programming provides a powerful, compact and expressive syntax for accessing, manipulating and operating on data in vectors, matrices and higher-dimensional arrays. NumPy is the primary array programming library for the Python language. It has an essential role in research analysis pipelines in fields as diverse as physics, chemistry, astronomy, geoscience, biology, psychology, materials science, engineering, finance and economics. For example, in astronomy, NumPy was an important part of the software stack used in the discovery of gravitational waves1and in the first imaging of a black hole2. Here we review how a few fundamental array concepts lead to a simple and powerful programming paradigm for organizing, exploring and analysing scientific data. Este texto es, primariamente, un intento —contra el espíritu de nuestro tiempo— de mostrar el interés que el diálogo entre teoría de la música y pensamiento computacional pueda tener para cualquiera que se considere habitante, por pasión o trabajo, de uno de ambos reinos.

Su objetivo concreto es fomentar el pensamiento abstracto a través de algo tan concreto como la elaboración de un programa informático para la automatización del análisis tradicional de acordes, a un nivel —dicho sea desde el principio— muy primitivo.

El propósito es, pues, eminentemente didáctico. Se trata de hacer ver que los procesos de abstracción involucrados en la creación de un programa ayudan a sistematizar e iluminar ciertas parcelas de la disciplina del saber a que se aplican, aquí la teoría tradicional de la música. Se trata también de demostrar la importancia que para el programador tiene el conocimiento preciso de la materia en torno al cual desarrolla sus programas.

This study has been undertaken to investigate the determinants of time taken to travel from one point to another using machine learning. Travel time prediction has important applicationswithin the field of intelligent transportation, such as vehicle Routing, congestion and traffic management. A challenging task in travel time prediction is obtaining data that is not readily available, as a clear majority of links in roads network are not equipped with traffic sensors.

As part of an ongoing search for new protein tyrosine phosphatese 1B (PTP1B) inhibitors from medicinal plants, the methanol extract of Selaginella rolandi-principis Alston was found to possess PTP1B inhibition. Thus, bioassay-guided separation of this active extract led to the identification of four compounds (1‒4) as active principles. Their chemical structures were elucidated by extensive analysis of spectroscopic and physicochemical data. Among the isolates, compounds 1–3 exhibited potential inhibitory activities with IC50 values of 18.8 ± 0.7, 5.6 ± 0.9, and 28.4 ± 1.2 µM against PTP1B. In this assay, ursolic acid as positive control displayed an IC50 value of 3.46 ± 0.07 µM.

Platform games are being revived with both their 2D and 3D versions being developed. A major challenge faced by the industry is a lack of automated system-level approaches for game testing. Currently in most game development organizations, games are tested manually or using semi-automated techniques. Such testing techniques do not scale to the industry requirements where more systematic and repeatable approaches are required. We provide guidelines for modeling the platform games for testing using our testing model. We present the details related to automated test case generation, execution, and oracle generation. Machine Learning approach can help us analyze the current state and allows to take action on it.

Robots are nowadays most often used which gives the same result each time as opposed to the human.The object sorting robot which is costless, fastest, and most valuable in terms of saving money and labor.To sort a bulk of object in quick time also the weight is greater than what a human can carry.By implementing project we are trying to reduce human labor by making the work automatic by using robotic arm, thus making work simple and consuming time.The speed and the accuracy of the sorting processes is increased. The cost is considerly reduced. We are making use of the robotic arm which is capable of detecting and placing in specified object. The robotic arm detects the pre-defined object and segregates them based on the RGB color. The aim of the system is to detect the object based on color and sort them accordingly.

With the rapid rising of living standard, people gradually developed higher shopping enthusiasm and increasing demand for garment. Nowadays, an increasing number of people pursue fashion. However, facing too many types of garment, consumers need to try them on repeatedly, which is somewhat time and energyconsuming. Besides, it is difficult for merchants to master the real-time demand of consumers. Proposed recommendation engine utilizes tops_fashion dataset which consists nearly 183k products acquired through Amazon API interface and processes this dataset using multiple techniques like Bag_of_Words (BoW), tf, idf, Word2Vec model,VGG16 (CNN) etc to recommend similar items to a given query item. Product Advertising API acts as a gateway to Amazon's databases so that we can take advantage of Amazon's sophisticated e-commerce data and functionality. In this project, we are using Python language for coding. The proposed system can recommend product based on various features of the product such as title, color, brand, price, image but we have only used title and image features of the products. Collaborative Filtering technique suffers from cold start problem-a situation where a recommender does not have adequate information about a user or an item in order to make relevant predictions. This is one of the major problems that reduce the performance of recommendation system.

Cílem této bakalářské práce je představení návrhu a implementace generátoru aritmetických obvodů v jazyce Python umožňující export těchto obvodů do různých reprezentací popisu v plochých a hierarchických podobách. Práce se nejprve věnuje specifikaci HW struktur jednotlivých typů aritmetických obvodů a způsobům popisu těchto struktur do různých reprezentací. Následuje představení koncepce a implementace nástroje zvaného ArithsGen schopného generovat aritmetické obvody a exportovat je do různých reprezentací popisu. Výstupní reprezentace pak slouží ke snadné simulaci funkčnosti navržených obvodů (C), k popisu hardwaru a logické syntéze (Verilog), k formální verifikaci (BLIF) či ke globální optimalizaci obvodů s využitím evoluční strategie (CGP). The royal python (Python regius) is commonly bred in captivity. To have a successful breeding season, accurate monitoring of the reproductive activity is necessary. The use of non-invasive monitoring methods in exotics is important in order to minimize stress. For this purpose ultrasound has been anecdotally used to monitor royal python reproductive activity. However, there is limited information regarding the reproductive cycle of this species. The aim of the present study is to monitor the female reproductive cycle of the royal python using ultrasonography and gonadal steroid metabolite measurements in the faeces. The reproductive activity of one hundred twenty-nine adult female P. regius was examined during two consecutive years. Difficulties in learning computer programming for novices is a subject of abundant scientific literature. These difficulties seem to be accentuated in students whose academic choice is not computation, like architecture students. However, they need to study programming, since it is part of the new academic curricula. The results presented here are part of a PhD research, which investigates the achievement motivation and the acquisition and transfer of programming knowledge from an online environment designed on the basis of the 4C-ID instructional design model. These results are a sociodemographic analysis, and the technological competence of these subjects. Greater reliance on smart and portable electronic devices demands engineers to provide solutions with better performance and minimized demerits. Face Recognition involves the method of associating and confirming the faces. It is fit for distinguishing, following, recognizing, or checking human appearances from a picture or video caught utilizing an advanced camera. Feature extraction is the most significant stage for the achievement of the face recognition framework. The different ways of implementing this project depends on the programming language or algorithms used such as MATLAB, OpenCV, visual basics C#, Viola-Jones algorithm and many more while the core functioning remains the same. Floresta Aleatória é um algoritmo popular e efetivo na resolução de problemas de classificação e regressão. As predições de uma Floresta Aleatória são feitas considerando que cada árvore possui igual contribuição no resultado final. Este trabalho propõe um novo método de ponderação de árvores de regressão com o objetivo de melhorar o poder de predição do modelo. Nossa estratégia é motivada em utilizar medidas de dispersão estatística, como desvio padrão ou erro padrão da média, como indicadores de qualidade da predição na folha. A estratégia de ponderação proposta foi comparada com outros métodos de ponderação. Nessa comparação observou-se que a mesma reduziu o Erro Absoluto Médio em cerca de 30% dos conjuntos de dados estudados.

Electronic voting (also known as electronic voting) refers to the use of electronic means to vote and to record and accurately count votes sent by users. Electronic voting systems must be secure, as they must not allow duplicate votes and be completely transparent, while protecting the privacy of participants. The disadvantage of the traditional voting system is that voting is not reliable and voters do not change until they are registered in the system. There is no transparency between the voters and the system. Electronic voting can be very useful because anyone can easily access the poll and cast their vote and express their choice. Zootherapy plays a role in healing practices in Mozambican society. Although several studies have focused on ethnobotany and traditional medicine in the country, little research has been conducted on the use of reptiles in zootherapy. The aim of this study was therefore to fill this gap by assessing the reptile species traded for traditional medicine in the Xipamanine and Xiquelene Markets in Maputo, Mozambique. We found that few reptile species are traded domestically for traditional medicine and that their use appears to be in decline in Mozambique. Our findings also suggest that the domestic trade of reptiles for traditional medicines in Maputo markets is unlikely to have a significant impact on the conservation of reptiles in Mozambique. However, we suggest that international trade with South Africa is likely having a larger impact, given observations of Mozambican nationals selling a diverse range of fauna in urban traditional medicine markets in Johannesburg and Durban.

Předmětem práce je seznámit čtenáře s použitím Pythonu v oblasti inženýrských výpočtů. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část seznamuje čtenáře s Pythonem a možnostmi jeho využití ve strojírenské oblasti. Druhá polovina teoretické části práce má za cíl seznámit čtenáře se základním výběrem studijních zdrojů a poskytuje návod, jak nastavit Python z pohledu běžného uživatele. XSPIF : ‘a (X)cross Standard PlugIn Framework’ is a development environment which offers the possibility of designing audio-plugins within an XML context, with a total abstraction from platform or standard. The XML files are parsed via python scripts, and one can get the C/C++ sources files in various plugin standards. This document is aimed at providing information for people who would like to improve XSPIF abilities and performances. Before reading this document, you should first take a look at other available documentation (especially XSPIF’s User Guide [GM03a]). Hence we could describe the Python code, but that would not be of much interest since it is pretty easy to understand, and almost exclusively consists in writing lines in a file. What we will describe here is rather the choices that have been made for the XSPIF environnement implementation for cross-platform and crossstandard purpose, as well as the specificities of each standard for the translation of the meta-plugin.
