Translational Cancer Research is indexed in PubMed/PMC: A tremendous step forward

We are delighted to announce that Translational Cancer Research (TCR) has passed the Scientific Quality Review by NLM for PMC. TCR is now indexed in PubMed/PMC, two important and extensive biomedical digital databases, which means publications in TCR will enjoy maximum exposure. All articles published in TCR from 2019 onwards will be available in PubMed/PMC within 1-2 months.

Clinic and Therapeutic Potential of Non-coding RNAs in Cancer

The present special series will explore todays knowledge about the potential role of ncRNAs in the clinic, especially in the liquid biopsy field, and intends to shed light into the future questions to be raised on this matter.

Synergy in Action: Novel Approaches to Combining Radiation Therapy and Immunotherapy

We are pleased to have multiple experts of their respective fields review and discuss the current literature and ongoing trials combining RT and immunotherapy. After reading our edition, I hope you have a better overview of where the oncology field is heading and how together with both RT and immunotherapy, we can continue our efforts to treat and potentially cure our patients with cancer.

We are pleased to share the 2020 Annual Report of Translational Cancer Research here. 2020 has seen much progress for TCR. We hope 2021 will bring greater things to TCR. We would like to thank you for your support and assistance in improving the journal over the past year, and we certainly look forward to your innovations and contributions in 2021.

We would especially like to express our sincere gratitude to the editorial board members, guest editors, reviewers, authors and readers for all your support and contributions to TCR. We wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2021!

Endometrial Cancer

The articles published in this special series can be considered a significant step forward in our knowledge about endometrial cancer and stimulate further discussion among the readers. In particular, the novel pieces of information contained in these articles may lead to important changes in the clinical practice and potential paradigm shifts in the future management of endometrial cancer.

Urothelial Carcinoma

The editors wanted to introduce an interesting and varied topic of UC and would like to thank prominent researchers of bladder cancer around the world who participated in this topic.

Loco-regional Therapy for Metastatic Breast Cancer

Patients with MBC can survive longer without metastatic symptoms when treated with these systemic therapies. However, MBC cannot be cured with ICI or other treatments and the majority of MBC patients will die of their disease. It is important to use all available treatments to obtain maximal control of symptoms, prevent serious complications, and prolong life with minimal disruption of daily activities and quality of life. We endeavor to use fewer powerful drugs, such as hormone therapy and oral agents, and thereby minimize severe adverse events.

Energy Balance, Aging, Obesity, and Cancer

This issue of TCR features a series of articles on the impact of obesity, diabetes, and cancer in the older adult population, focuses on providing a better understanding of the processes noted above, how they may influence cancer promotion and progression, and how they may be mitigated to reduce cancer incidence and its comorbidities.
