Chinese Options
Small Chinese manufacturers, more nimble and responsive to the changing market than megacorporations, are leading the way in terms of providing Dual Boot tablets.
This is a niche we expect to grow over the next few years as customers realise they don’t need to buy two tablets to run two operating systems. (Indeed, it would be wise to consider a Dual Boot tablet as two separate tablets, since their most common drawback is the difficulty of transferring files between the two boots.)
Brands such as Chuwi are getting requests from customers for Dual OS tablets and they are filling that demand in style.
These products are freely available on dubious websites, sometimes at lower prices than quoted here. However, those prices do not include customs duty (if the tablet is shipped direct from China, which it would be) and even if they are not scams, you will struggle to get customer support.
For that reason, we recommend you buy these Dual OS tablets through Amazon. The price you see is the final price you pay, and if you are unlucky enough to receive a tablet with dead pixels or any other defect, you are protected.

Chuwi VI8 Dual Boot Intel Z3735F
This tablet from Chuwi is actually capable of impressing some tech-savvy users. Unlike other super-low-priced tablets, it has quite good specs. To begin with, it has 2 GB of RAM, something unusual in the inexpensive tablet market; it also features Windows 8.1 Bing, a complete Windows 8.1 version. It has a 1,83Ghz Turbo Bay Trail Z3735F, a 1280x 800 IPS display and a slot for microSD cards. In reality, it basically has the same spec as the Dell Venue 8 Pro 5000 series that retails at $a very low price which, to tell the least, is amazing. Now, since it’s a dual boot device, you get less memory room, but this adds to tablet importance. A quad core 1.8ghz CPU, 2 GB RAM driven by fully certified Windows 8.1, Office 365 with one-year subscription and Android 4.4.4 all at a very small cost, that’s a steal.
When buying the Chuwi VI8 Dual Boot, you now get 9.48 GB of free space in Windows, which isn’t much. Also, you get 6.42 GB in Android. To make sure that microSD card slot is useful make sure that you use a microSD card formatted with fat32 so that both operating systems can access the card. Android has no NTFS liking. Android rom is an inventory Android affair, very straightforward, and that’s a nice thing. The ROM has about 5 removable Chinese apps and one that you can’t.
Cube i10 Intel Z3735F
Thanks to its quad-core Intel Atom Bay Trail Z3735F and 2 GB of RAM, this tablet from Cube i10 may seem like just another Windows entry-level tablet that a Chinese manufacturer has decided to release. In reality, it is quite a good deal. Most of the tasks are not particularly difficult to perform (such as watching some videos, listening to music, surfing the internet or using some simple desktop application, for example). However, the 10.6 “display diagonal, coupled with a very competitive cost, makes this tablet dual boot appropriate for any kind of use. The Cube i10 utilizes two distinct operating schemes: Android 4.4.4 and Windows 8.1 with Bing (along with a Windows permit, the subscription to Office 365 is also available free of charge for a year).
Like the i6 Cube, Cube i10 doesn’t allow you to choose an operating system when powering the tablet. What it does instead is to start using the last operating system you used. Therefore, a unique key is used to modify the working scheme, readily available from the system panel, which will go from one working scheme to another in about half a minute (but restarting the phone).
