Rovio took the time to toot its own horn today, announcing that 6.5 million people downloaded Angry Birds on Christmas Day. That's an impressive number on its own, but becomes even more incredible when you couple it with the news that 6.8 million total smartphones were activated on Christmas. Although there is no guarantee that all the Angry Birds downloads came from new smartphone owners, it does prove that Rovio's bird flinging franchise is as strong as ever. Viva Angry Birds!
