South Park's Mr. Garrison doesn't do anything lightly. He gets an idea into his head and dives in – head first. He's undergone radical surgeries; he's changed his sexual identities almost too many times to count. He's been prejudiced against virtually every kind of group that's wandered through South Park. South Park made a name for itself instantaneously for its outrageous humor. In this case 'outrageous' doesn't mean the manic energy of prop comic Carrot Top, but rather the willingness of Matt Stone and Trey Parker to send people into an "outrage." It all began with the short that got the show its start – "Jesus vs. Santa." And like all of South Park's material that seems simply offensive, there was actually a thoughtful message about the real meaning of Christmas behind the violent fight between Jesus and Santa Claus.
