The search for a new director for Thor 2 has reportedly ended.
Deadline claims that Marvel has selected veteran TV director Alan Taylor to helm the sequel. Taylor's most recent efforts have been for HBO, where he's directed episodes of the period fantasy series Game of Thrones. Hopefully, Taylor's time in Westeros has sufficiently prepared him for Asgard.
Taylor has also directed episodes of Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men and The Sopranos. He steps in for Patty Jenkins, who dropped out of Thor 2 citing creative differences with Marvel.
Thor 2 starts filming next spring for a November 15, 2013 release.
