House: "Risky Business" Review

Oh my god, I miss Chase and Taub! Thank goodness they're back next week. This week's "Risky Business" felt like a lot of filler and the new women are boring me to tears.

I can almost hear the negative comments now. Guys, I've loved this show forever and I've been happy with pretty much all the casting changes that have occurred in the past. So when I say that these ladies seem like poor substitutes for Olivia Wilde and Jennifer Morrison (or Kal Penn for that matter). Please understand that it's because this week's episode was so boring I actually thought about my grocery list.

The only moments that stood out were the final scene of destruction and a couple of House moments. This was another throwaway episode that showed us once again that House is an ass. A brilliant ass. Here's the thing. I love Hugh Laurie. I love his portrayal of House. I love watching him play a character that doesn't change. I love his interaction with Wilson. But it's the surrounding characters that give him a canvas on which to work. These ladies are a very bland background. Now, maybe we just haven't gotten to know them well enough. Maybe the group needs to be larger to provide the right balance. I just find them very milquetoast.

On the positive side, it was nice to see people uniting against House's shenanigans and these ladies might manage it if they can muster up some personality. I'm willing to like them if they step it up. I appreciated what the show had to say about sexual harassment in the work place and how it's often the victim that is looked at as the trouble maker. I've just seen it done better.

Alright. I know this is going to rile you all up. I have a feeling next week's review will be far better. Go ahead and spill the angry. Or shock me and tell me you agree. I may throw a party in my house for the return of Chase and Taub (and his wife and mistress). Anyone in?
