March 16, 1998 - In the most recent issue of the Japanese gaming magazine, Weekly Famitsu, Japanese readers have voted for the 30 most-wanted games. Despite the fact that most gamers in Japan own a PlayStation or a Saturn, and not an N64, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Mother 3 are climbing back into the Top 10.
Zelda managed to secure a number 7 slot, followed by Mother 3 on 10. Other N64 games placed at 14 (Powerful Pro Baseball 5), 24 (F-Zero X), and 27 (Pikachu Genki Dechu). The placements raise hope for increased N64 sales once Zelda debuts later this spring.
Here the complete Top 10 Most-Wanted List from Famitsu (02/26-03/04):
- Dragon Quest VII (PlayStation)
- Parasite Eve (PlayStation)
- Sakura Taisen 2 (Saturn)
- Tekken 3 (PlayStation)
- Pocket Monster Gold (Game Boy)
- Super Robot Taisen (Saturn)
- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
