Last November we got the heads-up on the next game from the creators of Henry Hatsworth and the Puzzling Adventure, Project Monster. Henry Hatsworth is one of our favorite Nintendo DS games, so we're interested in whatever its creators are working on. Project Monster was revealed to be part Mega Man-style 2D side-scroller and part monster raising sim (sounds awesome, right?). Like Henry Hatsworth, the platformer is played on the top screen while the monster raising bits are played on the bottom.
Today it was revealed to IGN that Majesco will be publishing the game, which has had a name change from Project Monster to Monster Tale.
Monster World has been taken over by the Kid Kings, and it's up to our heroine Ellie and her beastly pal Chomp to save the day. The Kid Kings are a pack of brats that are misusing and abusing the (apparently not-so-monstrous) monsters of Monster World. Chomp's Pet Sanctuary is found on the touch screen, where he will evolve as he plays with the goodies Ellie sends him from the top screen. Chomp can transform into about 30 different forms in order to help Ellie battle the forces of evil. Ellie will collect money along her journey she can use to buy food and items for Chomp.
