The first piece of art features nothing but clean blocks of color with no pencil or ink outlines (think Samurai Jack), while the second image shows the same page after it has been inked, shaded, and lettered. The difference between the two is pretty amazing.

Transformers omibus is on the way. Published by Devil's Due, this 464-page volume will collect all four Transformers / G.I. Joe comic mini-series, including the only reprinting of the fourth meeting between these huge franchises. The omnibus comes out this December, which gives you a few months to pump iron so you can carry it out of the comic shop without incident.

Beast Wars Sourcebook Art 4:32 PST | DennisFarrell | Print News | Category: ComicsIDW Publishing has updated its Art Du Jour section with a full page of art from the upcoming Beast Wars sourcebook series. Featuring Apache, this page includes a bio, weapons/abilities, and weaknesses for the Maximal with the monkey face on his chest. I would guess that one of his weaknesses is shirts that smell like bananas.
In related news, Seibertron spotted an Amazon listing for the Beast Wars sourcebook which includes a cover art image. If you look closely you'll see that the cover says "Sourcebook 1", which may mean that the image is simply taken from the first of three 48-page sourcebooks that will be collected, and not from the 152-page paperback itself.
I saw the IMAX print and it is awesome! It is the future of cinema to see movies in this format. I'm going to see Tranformers one last time and get ready to gear up for Transformers 2. I added two minutes of stuff for IMAX that will never make into any DVD's. There will never be an extended edition.
About the DVD. I like the two disc set. I has all the extras that the others don't have. It is the definitive edition of Transformers. It really breaks down how we made the movie.

Bay
Is this just a ploy to get more people to go see the IMAX release in theaters? Will Bay add "but that was just my opinion, it was ultimately Paramount's decision to make" while twirling his newly-grown evil mustache when the extended DVD comes out, or is this really the truth? Only time will tell.

Bonecrusher: Real American Hero? 6:23 PST | DennisFarrell | Print News | Category: Offbeat - ToysA video clip featured on Tformers.com shows Bonecrusher saving human lives... sort of. Originally airing on CNN, this report uses a Bonecrusher action figure in vehicle mode to demonstrate how the real-life Buffalo MPCV saves lives in Iraq by disabling improvised explosive devices with an extended robotic arm. Cool stuff!
Transformers 2, well that's another story. Iching to work pre strike (June) so I might jump ship and come back a year or so later cause people at the studio have been dragging for two months. Not sure why. I'll keep you informed.

This 24-page comic (written by Chris Ryall, drawn by Don Figueroa and Andrew Wildman) will be the same trim size as the DVD case and will contain new content that ties into both the movie and the IDW prequel comic book series. There will also be a special decoder included in the comic that will allow you to unlock text in the comic for use on Target.com.
The text you unlock may or may not be "Yes, I would like to subscribe to your e-mail newsletter and receive special offers from your business partners".
Also, in a bit of good news for our Australian readers, IMAX Melbourne will begin showing Transformers IMAX on September 21st. With the time difference and the hemisphere change, I think that comes out to Junely 12th for you guys.
