According to the NPD, Call of Duty 3 for the Xbox 360 was the fifth best selling title overall during November and the eighth best selling during December, making it second to only Gears of War on the 360 during that time period. The PS2 version was no slouch either, placing tenth overall and fourth on the platform during December. Over all consoles, Call of Duty 3 sold more than 1.1 million copies during the month of December, putting it behind only the mighty Madden juggernaut.

The popular mutliplayer modification for Call of Duty: United Offensive has been upgraded to version 2.0. Here are just a few of the changes/additions:

- Maps that support the UO "Domination" gametype are usable within the HoB gametype.
- The sprinting added by HoB in v1.0 has been removed and replaced with sprinting built into UO.
- The grenade priming added by HoB has been removed and replaced with the grenade priming built into UO.
- UO provided vehicles can be used.
- Player HUD reworked to support vehicles, stance indicator, remove HoB stamina bar, etc.

The guys over at Techgage have put up a performance report article testing out some popular games on the new Windows Vista operating system, including Call of Duty 2.

CoD 2 is a great game for benching because it's rather intense on your system even without realising it. That's why we see 28.472 average FPS on a nice mainstream video card. Settings used here were default except AA which was changed to 4x and AF which was set to Anisotropic. Although there is a noticeable decrease in frame rate here, it didn't feel as sluggish as Half-Life 2 did. However, 1680x1050 was clearly not as smooth as it was on XP, but it wasn't so noticeable that it would keep you from playing. Still, a 9 FPS decrease at the same settings between both OS' is a rather large difference.

The recently-fixed Valor map pack has now made its way back onto the Xbox Live Marketplace. Costing 800 points, this map pack will add three new maps to Call of Duty 3.

GameDaily BIZ has the latest financial report from Activision and they are expected to report the "largest and most profitable quarter in its history."

Activision Chairman and CEO Robert Kotick commented, "Net revenues for the third quarter of fiscal 2007 are expected to be the highest in Activision's history. Our results were driven by a smaller, high-quality game slate that was anchored by four key games -- Call of Duty 3, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Tony Hawk's Project 8 and Guitar Hero II.

New footage from an upcoming war game has made its way onto YouTube. Some people have mistaken this footage for Call of Duty 4, but we ensure that it is not. The game is an upcoming title from the Illusion Softwork team, not Infinity Ward.
