War of the Worlds Teaser
Spielberg is currently directing the contemporary adaptation of H.G.
Wells' classic 1898 novel for Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks.
The film stars Tom Cruise, Miranda Otto, Tim Robbins, Dakota Fanning and Justin Chatwin. While the script is being closely guarded, we know that the story tracks a family during a Martian invasion of Earth. Cruise and Otto are the parents. Fanning and Chatwin play the children. Robbins will play a concerned astronomer. The production is rumored to be the costliest in the history of cinema. Spielberg reportedly wants to make War of the Worlds the "film of the decade." War has filmed in New Jersey, Brooklyn, New York and will soon lens in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. War of the Worlds opens June 29, 2005.
