I retired from Montana State University Bozeman after 35 years where I taught two courses related to plant diversity, Agrostology and Plant Systematics, in addition to serving as curator of the MONT Herbarium. I continue to maintain Flickr photos, albums, and collections in part to document the beautiful plant diversity in western North America and especially in highly seasonal environments, including the North American sagebrush steppe, deserts, and montane environments. I also maintain photos of plants endemic to seasonally dry neotropical forests and woodlands, particularly legume species of the papilionoid tribes Robinieae and Dalbergieae. I repost all Flickr photos to iNaturalist as occurrence records: www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=any&user_id... because photos are more accessible to the general public via iNaturalist.

Matt – Thanks once again for providing and continuing to build this great collection. I use it often for blogging and writing about plants. Best wishes! Hollis

Absolutely incredible shots. Extremely well composed. This is tough to do with close ups and grasses. But each shot has more than just the subject as part of the composition. Maybe it is Montana. Maybe it is Matt. How about both!

Matt, I have viewed your collection extensively and I am amazed by your such extensive knowledge and photos of the grasses. Wow, you have done such a good job organizing so many species and genera. Congratulations. It must have taken you years of study and work. Blake Willson - TreeLib.ca
