Various – The X-Files: The Album

Noel Gallagher's 'Teotihuacan' is an absolute trip-hop gem. I know the High Flying Birds compilation focused specifically on HFB material, but one day we need a more extensive Noel compilation that includes tracks like this and his various collaborations.
I also fell in love with several other tracks from this album—the Cardigans' contribution, and the Foo Fighters' track (say what you will about FF, but 'Walking After You' is genuinely melodic and enjoyable). I'd never heard of Better Than Ezra before this, and 'One More Murder' became one of my favorites from the compilation.
Believe it or not, where I'm from, music wasn't easy to come by—while Sting's albums were everywhere, The Police were much harder to access. So the 'Invisible Sun' self-cover on this album was actually my first exposure to that song, before I ever heard the original.
I agree with everyone else—it's a brilliant compilation that absolutely deserves a vinyl reissue.

I agree with others, this album need to be released on vinyl. That would be an instant buy!

This album is so good, still listen to it to this day, but I really hope this will be released on vinyl. That would be awesome 5/5

I just rewatched the movie for the first time in over a decade and was reminded what a killer soundtrack this was! I hope it gets a vinyl release someday!

Absolutely excellent compilation. My first CD I ever bought when I was a kid. Every song is special. Hope it gets the vinyl treatment some day.

Wobei ich den Film bisher noch nicht gesehen habe, kann ich mich schon jetzt mit der Musik anfreunden. Auch habe ich noch nicht viele Folgen der Serie gesehen, wodurch ich nicht beurteilen kann, ob die Art der Musik zu dem Film passt. Da es sich bei den Songs aber um sehr ruhige und teilweise mystisch angehauchte handelt, könnten sie gut passen. Interessant ist, daß man hier endlich die Titelmelodie von Mike Oldfield in der gesamten Länge hören kann. Ob dies aber jetzt gut oder schlecht ist, soll bitte jeder selbst entscheiden. Auf jeden Fall schlecht ist die Dance/Techno-Version der Dust Brothers. Auffallend ist aber, daß sich die meisten Künstler von einer eher unbekannten Seite zeigen, nämlich die Foo Fighters, The Cure, Noel Gallagher und The Cardigans. Vor allem die Foo Fighters, die mit "Walking after you" ein geniales Stück beigetragen. Gänsehaut garantiert. Zu erwähnen wäre noch, daß Sting and Aswad überhaupt nicht auf diesen Soundtrack passen und die wie immer nicht einzuordnenden Ween mit "Beacon light" auch etwas aus dem Rahmen fallen. Außerdem hätte der Hidden-Track nicht sein gebraucht. Verarschung am Kunden!
