🇯🇲 Strengthening climate-resilient water infrastructure in Jamaica Through the #EUROCLIMA programme, the European Union is supporting Jamaica in strengthening its capacity to develop and manage climate-resilient water infrastructure through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). By enhancing the National Water Commission’s ability to design, procure, and oversee PPP projects, the action helps create an enabling environment for sustainable investment in the water sector. A key focus is supporting strategic initiatives such as the Rio Cobre PPP, leveraging private-sector expertise and financing to improve water service delivery while increasing resilience to climate-related challenges. Protecting nature while fostering market value in Peru How can biodiversity credits help protect ecosystems while ensuring local communities benefit from conservation efforts? 🇵🇪 In Peru, the European Union works with national and local partners to develop biodiversity credits as a financial instrument for long-term ecosystem conservation. The foundation: robust technical and governance frameworks, built locally, that make credits credible, transparent and verifiable. Delivering on the #GlobalGateway strategy, this approach builds the enabling environment needed to mobilise private finance and protect critical ecosystems at scale. 👉 Learn more about the #EUROCLIMA programme: https://lnkd.in/dbkBnVvW 👉 For operational insights, visit Capacity4dev: https://lnkd.in/dkc5f9VS

⚡ What does it take to turn continental energy ambitions into investable projects? 💡 A key lesson emerging from the first Continental Energy Programme in Africa (CEPA) Consultation & Validation Workshop and inaugural Steering Committee is that validation matters. When African institutions collectively endorse technical deliverables, studies become shared continental instruments, helping transform technical work into investment opportunities. 🤝 A notable example: one of CEPA's first validated pre-feasibility studies has already secured follow-on financing from the African Development Bank to advance to the next stage. 🌍 Read how CEPA is helping lay the foundations for the African Single Electricity Market, regional interconnections and energy-efficiency action across the continent. 👉 https://lnkd.in/diRDBF_z #AfricaEUPartnership #TeamEurope #SustainableEnergy #CEPA
