    【茶巾たまご】

    最近の若旦那はすこぶる体の調子がよく、店は商売繁盛。茶巾卵を食べれば金の粒が出てくる。最近変わった事と言えば、金次を拾ったことくらいで…

    松之助の縁談話の相手、海苔問屋の大むら屋の娘が殺され、松之助が疑われる…

    【花かんざし】

    迷子の於りんを拾うが、於りんは家に帰ると殺されると言う。深川の材木問屋中屋の娘だと分かるが、乳母のおさいの遺体がお堀であがる…

    【ねこのばば】

    猫又になりかけの小丸が妖封じで有名な広徳寺に預けられてしまった。助けに行くと、僧が殺されていて、寄進した金が千両消えていた。小丸の為に、謎解きをする事に。

    【産土】

    佐助はお店で手代として働いている。取引のある店がつぶれてお店も何かと苦しいが、若旦那の為に、妖達に頼み川や海に落ちている金を集めてもらう。だが、金箱に句と一緒に金が入っていた。

    【たまやたまや】

    幼なじみの栄吉の妹・お春に縁談が来るが、一太郎から貰った煙管を無くしてしまった。見つけたら嫁に行くという。

    一太郎は身体が弱くて、優しいですがちょっと情けない部分もあり、もどかしい時もありますが、事件を通して少しずつ成長していくのも見どころかなと思います。

    最後のたまやたまやは、お春の結婚がからみ切なくもいい話だったと思います。

    本格ホラーの気配−「産土」

    ホラーものが一編入っています。

    「産土（うぶすな）」。

    これが面白かったです。

    ホラーものは結構読んでいるのですが、

    ストーリーの面白さ、怖さはなかなかです。

    （しゃばけシリーズではちょっと異色かも）

    短編に収めようとして、

    構想を切り詰めて（ちょっぴり無理して）オチをつけたのだと思いますが、

    畠中さんにはいずれ「産土」を長編にしてただきたいと思いました。

    村上春樹さんの「蛍」が「ノルウェーの森」になったように、

    傑作が書けるかもしれないと思います。

    その他の作品では、「茶巾たまご」の金次、「ねこのばば」の寛朝など、登場人物のキャラクターが冴えていて、今後も脇役として活躍しそうな予感も含め、面白かったです。

    しゃばけシリーズ三作目。

    5編の短編どれもおもしろかったですが、一番は「産土」。

    違和感を感じつつも、みごとに引っ掛かりました。

    仁吉に続き佐助が主人公の話よかったです。

    　第１作の「しゃばけ」がとても魅力的なキャラクター構成で、ストーリーの運びも軽妙だったので、本作も読んでみました。

    　本作もあいかわらず、登場人物がそれぞれの輝きを放っており、しゃばけシリーズの世界観を楽しめます。読んでいて、上手だなあと思います。たまたま、コロナウイルスのときに読んだので、暗い世相をいっとき忘れて、心から楽しめました。

    　５つの話を収めた短編集であり、それぞれ独立した推理劇の話なので、それぞれの話を個別に楽しめます。また、その中にも登場人物の境遇が少しずつ歩みを進めるのを味わう楽しみもあります。

    　どの話も楽しめる粒ぞろいの短編集ですが、私の場合は、佐助をメインに据えた、４話目の「産土」がたいへん印象に残り、ぜひ多くの人に読んでいただきたい話と思います。あと、登場人物の境遇が進むという面では、５話目の「たまやたまや」も読むべき話と思います。

    　著者の筆力を感じる良い本であり、お薦めできる本と思います。
