Whether it gags you in all the ways (good or bad) or has your green-screen tree breasts perked and ready for more, one thing we can all root for is — for better or worse — a buzzy RuPaul's Drag Race fashion moment. Ahead, EW rates the runway looks from season 13 (Fridays at 8 p.m. on VH1), from Symone's knockout threads to Olivia Lux's teeny tiny purses bursting with talent larger than Kandy Muse's wigs. (This list is not a ranking of the queens themselves, but rather the runway creations — items presented within the context of a competition — for fun.)

Notes: Conceptually, this is genius. The execution is a little lacking. As the judges said, if this had taken a more structured approach with the bones instead of simply pasting them haphazardly around the entire garment, it would’ve taken this glimpse of a great idea into a full-blown vision. Lala’s face and hair are ace, though.

If the looks were all similar, I’d see it, but she’s actually served diverse pieces on the runway so far, and this is a fun, light camp ditty.

Still, the hair is great (I know lots of you don’t thin so, but it adds to the fantasy), and the mini-me hanger she’s carrying the other design on adds a touch of theater to a really intriguing concept. The vision was clear from the beginning, but the fantasy came alive as Kandy’s lip-sync against Symone jolted a second life of motion into this dynamic gown.

Notes: I’ve seen a lot of people criticizing others for liking this look, but abhoring Lala’s bag look. The difference here is intent. Lala herself — who’s given some of the best looks of the season so far —praised Gottmik’s look in Untucked, so she knows why it’s amazing, too: There’s a distinction between quickly gluing a few bags to a corset to merely qualify for the runway and the powerful simplicity in a thought-out concept’s clean execution. Layered with the fact that Gottmik’s top surgery scars are visible makes this piece a strong pro-trans statement on body image and self-confidence. Both of these queens are incredible, but off days are expected on Drag Race, and Lala’s one-time slip-up doesn’t have any bearing on Gottmik’s future success.
