Retrosheet was founded in 1989 for the purpose of computerizing play-by-play accounts of as many pre-1984 major league games as possible. Learn more about the organization.

Retrosheet has had a close relation with SABR since Retrosheet's founding in 1989. Almost everyone associated with Retrosheet is a SABR member and SABR has always been of huge help in facilitating contacts for us.

As probably everyone here has read, SABR has postponed the 2020 convention. This is a wise public health precaution but it comes with significant financial consequences for the organization which will suffer a substantial loss of revenue.

The Retrosheet Board held a virtual special meeting and voted unanimously to donate $1000 to SABR. I write to urge others to help SABR financially if they are able to do so. SABR is implementing a Sustainability Campaign. Program explained in detail.
