David Checa

Legendary endurance rider David Checa is synonymous with the GMT94 team and has been ever-present for them since he filled in for the injured Christophe Guyot (Team Manager) at Oschersleben in 2003, a race the team went on to win. Since then, he has not missed a single race and the 2017/2018 FIM Endurance World Championship will be his 16th consecutive season with GMT94 and Yamaha, in what is one of, if not the, longest association between a rider, team and manufacturer at the top level of world motorsport. In his first full season with the team, a year that saw the introduction of the third generation of the Yamaha YZF-R1, he went on to lift the first of his EWC titles. In 2014, he became a double Endurance World Champion with the team and secured his third title during the sensational 2016/2017 season.

Checa has also raced in the MotoGP World Championship, the 250cc World Championship, and the WorldSBK and WorldSSP Championships, plus was the 2016 French Superbike Champion. In 2018, he will also compete in the RFME CEV Superstock 1000 category alongside his commitments with the GMT94 Yamaha Official EWC Team.
