Director, Pittsburgh Mining Research Division

CDC’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a full-time executive position as the Director for Pittsburgh Mining Research Division within the Office of Mine Safety and Health Research (OMSHR). The ideal candidate is a nationally or internationally recognized expert in mining engineering with a strong background in basic and applied research within the occupational health and safety arena. The recognition includes a range of peer-reviewed publications and demonstrated accomplishments for implementing research projects and programs within the occupational health and safety community. Job duties will include leading and directing a high-performance research program to improve health and safety of the dedicated workers within the mining industry, serving as a technical and management authority in the mining research program, and providing oversight, guidance and direction to approximately 180 research personnel at the Bruceton Facility.
