The European Party of Ukraine has decided to give its support to Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko, who is running for president in the 2010 elections, the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko's press service reported.
This decision was passed at the fifth congress of the European Party of Ukraine on Friday.
"I do not want the country of [Party of Regions Leader Viktor] Yanukovych. I want the European democratic prospect for Ukraine. Only one candidate can provide this - this is Tymoshenko. That is why I am calling on you to cast away all the emotions and realize that we have only one chance today: either we preserve the democratic prospect for Ukraine, or we will give the country into the hands of gangsters and corrupt officials," EPU Leader Mykola Katerynchuk has said.
Each vote which will not be given to Tymoshenko will go to Yanukovych, he added.
